USING YOUR MOUTH TO DECIDE YOUR CIRCUMSTANCES
Mark 11:23-24
“Truly I tell you, whoever says to this mountain,
Be lifted up and thrown into the sea! and does not doubt at all in his heart
but believes that what he says will take place, it will be done for him.
24 For this reason I am telling you, whatever
you ask for in prayer, believe (trust and be confident) that it is granted to
you, and you will [get it].”
Dear
people of God, purely by the grace of God, I have reached the level in my
Christian life where my ears and mind are very attentive to what I am saying most
of the time and also to what others are saying as we converse daily.
On
a daily basis, I hear very many people utter a lot of negative comments
concerning themselves.
Even when they say they are Christians, they pray with
faith in Church and thereafter cancel the prayer with what they utter with
their mouths, a reflection of what is going on in their minds.
The
Lord Jesus Christ has told us two things in today’s lead Scripture:
(1) You will receive WHATSOEVER
you declare with your mouth as long as you do not doubt
(2) You will receive WHATSOEVER
you have asked for in prayer as long as you believe.
Many
Christians know how to follow the second command and do so on a daily basis in
prayer. Unfortunately, because they spend more time outside prayer daily, they
struggle to keep the first command.
In
their quiet time, in their conversation with friends, relatives, acquaintances,
etc, they keep lamenting about the difficulties they are experiencing.
Now,
because you will have whatsoever you declare with your mouth, difficulties
never leave their lives.
One
may ask now, but Jesus said if you do not doubt in your mind, you will have
whatsoever you have said or declared.
Absolutely
correct. The constant declaration with your own mouth about difficulties shows
that you do not doubt (or you believe) that difficulties are your current
situation and so you will continue to have difficulties!
Another
person may argue but how can I say something contrary when difficulty is my
current situation as I see with my own physical eyes and I want to face
reality?
But
the Holy Bible says we walk by faith and not by sight – 2 Corinthians 5:7.
Walking
by sight is therefore declaring with your own mouth about the reality of your
difficulty while walking by faith is declaring with your own mouth what you
want to see in your life ever before it manifests physically.
I
will urge you, dear friend, to read this statement in the preceding paragraph
over and over again until it sinks in.
When you understand these things, you will learn to walk by faith, declaring things you
want to see in your life and not what your present circumstance is.
It must
become a conscious part of your being to believe and say things you want to see
in your life ALWAYS.
I
tell you, this is exactly how faith works. Doubt is the opposite of faith and
it will also give you the exact same result concerning the very thing you thought
about as you doubted in your mind.
As
we are told in Proverbs 18:21, “Death and life are in the power of
the tongue, and they who indulge in it shall eat the fruit of it [for death or
life].”
This is why you must listen and
obey wholeheartedly what the Lord Jesus Christ is saying in today’s lead Bible
text and indeed in every other text of the Bible.
For only then would your way
become prosperous and you would have good success – Joshua 1:8.
May the good Lord bless you as you
heed His Word today, act on it and share with others in Jesus’ Most Powerful
Name, Amen.
