YOU MUST TAKE GOD AT HIS WORD
When a man speaks,
he may or may not be telling the truth. The only way to tell whether the man is
telling the truth is when he does exactly what he says.
Life has shown
especially nowadays that a lot of people make promises they simply do not keep.
They break agreements at will, they dishonour commitments and just fail to keep
their word.
As a result, the
world is such that people have learned not to take the words of humans
seriously. Until the person performs what he has said would the listener believe
he is telling the truth.
This is why men
promise marriages to women and refuse to turn up on the wedding day. This is
why countries go to war with each other.
This is why
companies take themselves to court to settle issues of distrust. This is why
electorates the world over are fed up with the lies of political office holders
who promise them one thing during the campaign period and do the very opposite
once they are elected into office.
This is why the
Holy Bible, the infallible Word of God tells us not to trust in fellow humans –
Psalm 146:3-4.
In fact, so serious
is the matter of distrust amongst humans that God pronounces a curse on any human
that places his trust in fellow humans – Jeremiah 17:5-6.
In spite of all
this, there are those who still want to put their trust in fellow humans and
claim that God is the one who has sent them to meet them for help.
If God has not sent
you to meet anyone, it is a sin to claim that. What I know is that God will
never send you to beg anyone for anything.
What God would rather
do is to command the person to bless you because God is the owner of the
heavens and earth and all that is in them.
This is why humans
must put their trust in God. You must take God at His Word. You must never
consider in your mind whether what God has said is right or not.
There is nothing
God has said that He would not do. God is infallible – Numbers 23:19.
Whatever God has
commanded is the right thing to do because God is a loving Father Who cares for
us and would never lead us astray.
When you consider
God’s Word in your mind during meditation, you must accept it as Truth because
that is what it is, absolute Truth.
But you must diligently
study God’s Word in the Holy Bible to know what He has said and you must do
what God has said to receive His promised blessings.
You must believe
what God has said in His Word and you must claim it as yours by declaring it
verbally in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
You must have a
personal relationship with God like a loving earthly father has with his child.
It is then you will understand what God wants, what He has commanded, why you
should obey Him and the consequences of disobeying Him.
It is then you will
learn to worship God and appreciate Him for Who He is, a loving, righteous,
holy and just Father.
Dear friend,
obeying God is not difficult. It is for your own benefit and eternal blessings
in the after-life that you must take God at His Word.
Do this and all
will always go well for you no matter the circumstances you encounter in life.
May the good Lord
bless you as you heed His Word today, act on it and share with others in Jesus’
Most Holy Name, Amen.
