UNDERSTANDING CHRISTIANITY
My personal
observation and experience has shown that there are many Christians who are not
aware of the enormous blessings God has given to them.
This is evident
when I am out with my spouse on evangelism, usually every Saturday evening.
Whenever we pass
the message of the magnificent blessings God has released to Christians to
those who care to listen, you would usually see the listener’s face light up
because he is hearing it for the first time and it sounds very strange in his
ears.
This ignorance is
partly what is responsible for the level of moral decadence you find amongst
Christians. When a person does not know his right in Christ, he is bound to do
anything to get along including things that offend God, which is not what a
Christian should do.
When a Christian
leader, pastor, evangelist, Sunday school teacher, General Overseer, who should
know better is also unaware and therefore unable to pass the right message to
his congregation, it is like the Lord Jesus says Luke 6:39, “Can a blind [man] guide and direct a blind [man]? Will they not both stumble into a
ditch or a hole in the
ground?”
Dear friend, what I am
saying here is that many Christians are missing out on their blessings from God
because of ignorance of their rights as Christians.
Now, one would ask, what
is the solution? The answer is found in the Word of God. You must seek to know
what God’s Word says about you.
It is not enough for you
to go to Church and learn from only what the pastor is telling you. Additionally,
you must deliberately develop a love for the Word of God, because in it is
contained eternal life.
This is why the Lord
Jesus tells us in Matthew 4:4, “Man shall not live and be upheld and sustained by bread
alone, but by every Word that comes forth from the mouth of God.”
You must pray sincerely
to God asking Him to make you fall in love with His Word and teach you the
truths contained therein.
You must personalize the prayer of Paul the Apostle
in Ephesians 1:17-18, “[For I always pray
to] the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, that He may grant
you a spirit of wisdom and revelation [of insight into mysteries and secrets]
in the [deep and intimate] knowledge of Him,
18 By having the
eyes of your heart flooded with light, so that you can know and understand the hope to which He
has called you, and how rich is His glorious inheritance in the saints (His
set-apart ones),”
When you pray this
prayer sincerely, I can assure you that God will show you things in His Word
you never understood even when you were previously reading it.
Your life will never be
the same again. You will witness enormous positive changes in your life’s situation
as long you believe, accept and obey all of God’s commandments in His Word.
God will release your
blessings to you as contained in His Word because He is a God of integrity who
cannot violate His Word.
Most importantly, you
will have no choice but to go and tell others about the Gospel of Jesus Christ because
the Spirit of God would make you fall in love with God in a new way you never
imagined before.
This is why the Gospel
is called Good News. You are expected to go tell others as a Christian and as
the Lord Jesus has commanded in Mark 16:15.
May the good Lord
bless you as you heed His Word today, act on it and share with others in Jesus’
Most Powerful Name, Amen.
