THE FOUNDATION UPON WHICH CHRISTIANITY IS BUILT

God has told us in the Holy Bible how to recognize a genuine prophet from Him (God), which is in Deuteronomy 18:22, “When a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the word does not come to pass or prove true, that is a word which the Lord has not spoken. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you shall not be afraid of him.”

Now, the Lord Jesus Christ while on earth here as a human being made several claims that He was going to suffer at the hands of the Jewish leaders of that time, be put to death and that He would rise again from death.

Jesus had 12 Apostles who heard Him say this and Jesus proved He was from God through the many outstanding miracles He performed and many disciples saw this and believed Him.

The time eventually came for Christ’s prophesy of His torture, death and resurrection and this also happened as He had predicted. This was proof to all that Jesus Christ was truly Who He claimed – the Son of God, the Messiah, the Saviour of the Universe.

Jesus’ death was to undo the damage the devil did at the beginning when he (devil) deceived the first human beings Adam and Eve into sinning by disobeying God’s commandments in the Garden of Eden.

That sin of man disconnected mankind spiritually from God and brought physical and spiritual death into the world. Jesus’ death reconnected mankind back to God spiritually and assured all followers of Jesus of eternal life even after their physical death in this world.

Jesus’ resurrection from the death confirmed that He was able to do what He claimed. It is written about the Lord Jesus Christ’s resurrection in 1 Corinthians 15:6, “Then later He (Jesus) showed Himself to more than five hundred brethren at one time, the majority of whom are still alive, but some have fallen asleep [in death].”

This was more than enough proof that Jesus died and resurrected from the dead. It is on this foundation of death on the Cross and resurrection from death that Christianity is founded.

Jesus’ Apostles had enough evidence from this to boldly go out after Jesus’ resurrection and the baptism of the Holy Ghost on the Apostles and disciples to tell others about this great event of a Messiah sent from God.

If Jesus did not rise from the dead, then Christianity as we know it today would not exist and Jesus would have been shown to be false, but we know this is not the case.

In fact, so true was the reality of Jesus’ resurrection from death that Paul in his letter to the Corinthians writes in 1 Corinthians 15:14 & 19, “And if Christ has not risen, then our preaching is in vain [it amounts to nothing] and your faith is devoid of truth and is fruitless (without effect, empty, imaginary, and unfounded).

If we who are [abiding] in Christ have hope only in this life and that is all, then we are of all people most miserable and to be pitied.”

The Apostles of Christ Jesus saw proof of Jesus’ resurrection, went all out to tell others about it and even gave up their lives standing on this truth.

Dear friend, if you are not yet a Christian, then I can assure you that there is a dire need for you to take a serious look at it.

There is no other religion or movement where the founder made such bold claims and was able to prove it. It is only in Christianity that the Lord Jesus did this and this proves Jesus Christ is the Messiah.

Jesus Christ is the only One Who knows the truth about God and through Whom anyone, and I mean anyone can know the truth about God.

You cannot get this anywhere else.

I therefore invite you to come to Jesus Christ today, and now, because there is no other way to reach God except through Jesus.

HOW DO YOU CONTROL VIOLENCE IN PEOPLE?

Hebrews 12:14 (AMPC)  “ Strive to live in peace with everybody and pursue that consecration  and holiness without which no one will [ever] see the Lord.”   Dear people of God, I read sometime in December 2019 ago of a police inspector in Nigeria who shot and killed his colleague, a corporal, and the same shot injured another colleague, a deputy Superintendent of police after which the police inspector took his own life.   What could have led to such violence?   I also read of another unfortunate story of a lady killed December 25, 2019, Christmas Day, by her husband who had beaten her to a coma and then ran away after discovering what he had done. GOD CANNOT VIOLATE HIS WORD

  Psalm 89:34  “My covenant I will not violate, nor will I alter the utterance of My lips.” Dear people of God, today’s lead Bible text in Psalm 89:34 is a profound statement by God Almighty and Father of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
