FILTHY TALK FROM A LOST SOUL
Matthew 5:22
“But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment. And whoever says to his brother, ‘Raca!’ shall be in danger of the council. But whoever says, ‘You fool!’ shall be in danger of hell fire.”
“But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment. And whoever says to his brother, ‘Raca!’ shall be in danger of the council. But whoever says, ‘You fool!’ shall be in danger of hell fire.”
Dear people of God, I received a shocking message in my
Facebook inbox 2 days ago on Thursday April 26, 2018 and from someone I don’t even
know.
Since there are many fraudsters and impostors on Facebook who
steal other people’s identities (photos) to open another account in order to
defraud others, I am wary of the messages I respond to especially when the
poster is “female”.
Notice I put the word FEMALE in inverted commas.
It happened that this person whom I am still not sure whether
male or female started chatting me 2 days before the insulting message. When
the message first popped up on my PC screen, I looked at the poster and noticed
it was a “female”, someone I did not know even though we are Facebook friends.
The reason I accept friends’ request from unknown people on
Facebook is because it gives me the opportunity to share the Gospel message of
my Lord Jesus Christ with more people.
I then clicked the person’s name to see the
profile and a scan of a few photos showed a scantily dressed female who exposed
her upper cleavage in one particular photo.
I simply ignored this person because I had an
idea of what the character was after. The next day the person tried again and I
still ignored it. Finally, yesterday, the person wrote me a stinker, asking me
why I was too big to reply.
The person stated that I was not even happy that
“she” was greeting me. Finally, the person asked me to go to hell.
It is pertinent to note that after the first
comment, “she” called me an idiot. After the second, she called me a fool
before the third one telling me to go to hell.
I was shocked but not surprised. The intention
was finally clear but I still chose to ignore without a response.
I want to note that the only time I had checked
the person’s profile, I noticed a message where a male had asked “her” who “she”
felt “she” was, ignoring his message to her. I never saw any response from
“her” to the person.
And now this same person felt irritated that I
had ignored “her”. Isn’t that strange?
Dear friends, in today’s lead Holy Bible text,
the Lord Jesus Christ says whoever is angry at his brother without cause is in
danger of judgement. The Lord further says whoever calls another person a fool
is in danger of HELL fire.
This person did what the Word of God forbids and
for no credible reason. What was my crime or sin against “her?” In these days of
predators lurking on the internet taking advantage of unsuspecting people
especially the young and innocent, one must be careful about who is chatting
them.
What if I was a predator and decided to play
along? What could have been the fate of this “lady?” What is more, I am not
even sure who this person is but from the invectives the person poured out on
me, this is a lost soul in dire need of Repentance and Salvation found only in
the Lord Jesus Christ.
The lesson here is that we should be careful of the
kind of language that comes out of our mouths even when we are angry for a
justifiable reason, unlike this case where there is no justifiable reason for
the anger.
Truth be told, no one can exercise restraint and self-control
in the face of provocation without the Spirit of God in the person’s life.
One can only receive the Spirit of God when one
becomes a born again, a true child of God having sincerely repented, confessed
and forsaken sin, accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as Messiah and now lives a life
in genuine obedience to the Lord’s commandments in the Holy Bible.
I hold no grudge against this person but just
pity for a lost soul in dire need of Christ.
My prayer for this person, whether male or
female, is that the Lord Jesus Christ will open his or her eyes of
understanding to realize the grave danger he or she is putting himself or
herself so he or she can repent and come to Christ Jesus, the only guarantee of
eternal life.
This is also my sincere prayer for all lost souls
out there in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
May the good Lord bless you as you heed His Word
today, act on it and share with others in the Precious Name of the Lord Jesus
Christ, Amen.
