RESPECT FOR OTHERS
God and Father of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ
is not partial towards any one. This is clear in Colossians 3:25 (AMPC)
Even though the Christians are the only ones
qualified to enter heaven when they die, God has still given an opportunity for
non-Christians to hear the Gospel of Repentance and Salvation found only in the
Lord Jesus Christ.
This is why Christians go out to evangelise as
Jesus commanded, to tell others about Him as the only Way to heaven.
God has done this because He loves and respects
every one of His creation, the universe and all in it, especially the humans.
God would not force any one to accept His commandments so no one has an excuse
to hold God responsible for his or her own actions.
If the One Who created us treats us this way, He
also expects us to treat ourselves with respect.
This is why it is a surprise that people disrespect
and look down on others on the basis of political, social, economic,
educational, gender, ethnic and religious status.
Because you are in a better position today than
someone else gives you no right to maltreat or disrespect the person. God has
made it possible for everyone to rise to any height or position in life, so the
person who maltreats others for whatever reason is grossly mistaken.
God Himself has made this possible so everyone is
given an opportunity to progress in life. Majority of those who are currently
disadvantaged in any way are not aware of the extent to which a human can
develop as put in place by God, so they remain in their present position
complaining.
And the one who by God’s grace also is in an
advantaged position ignorantly believes he is better than others by virtue of
his present position.
If only God can open his eyes of understanding to
show him how misinformed and ignorant he is, he would weep in repentance and
ask for forgiveness and mercy.
Dear friend, if you disrespect others because you
are privileged, you will not enter heaven because you are offending God by your
actions.
God can raise up the presently poor and disadvantaged
person to a great height in life and you will begin to regret why you were mean
to them in the first place. Show respect to others if you claim to be a
Christian, a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ.
If you are not a Christian, you must immediately
amend your ways and treat others with respect no matter who they are. What is
of equal importance is that you must come to the Lord Jesus Christ in sincere
repentance and obedience to His commandments so He can grant His salvation to your
soul.
This is a very serious matter so you need to
consider it very carefully and decide today and now, for tomorrow may be too
late.
The Lord Jesus Christ tells us in Matthew 7:12
(AMPC), “So then, whatever you desire that others would do to and for you, even so do
also to and for them, for this is (sums up) the Law and the Prophets.”
May the good Lord bless you as you heed His Word
today, act on it and share with others in Jesus’ Mighty Name, Amen.
Gabriel Ama.
