UNLESS YOU ARE BORN AGAIN
Dear friend, there are some people who believe
people doing good things will enter heaven even if they do not know and receive
the Lord Jesus Christ as Saviour of their lives.
There was a time I reasoned that way and my submission
was premised on the fact that God says “by their fruits (or actions), we shall
know them” and if they are living lives consistent with the right living as the
Word of God prescribes, they would make heaven.
How wrong and ignorant I was then in quoting this
scripture above and interpreting it wrongly.
The Lord Jesus Christ makes it clear in John 3:3
(AMPC), “I
assure you, most solemnly I tell you, that unless a person is born again (anew,
from above), he cannot ever see (know, be acquainted with, and experience) the
kingdom of God.”
So what exactly does it mean to be
born again? It means, as this text above tells us, to be born anew from above
or heaven. It is the Holy Spirit of God that makes it happen through a life
changing encounter with the person.
To be born again means for a
person to be transformed completely from an old nature of sin to a new nature
of righteous living made possible by God’s Holy Spirit.
It means the person has decided to
drop a life of sin, deceit, immorality, indecency in dressing, mannerism,
speech, etc. and decided to accept the Lord Jesus as Messiah over his or her
life.
As the Holy Bible tells us in 2
Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore
if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a
new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has
passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!”
To be born again means an innate,
conscious desire to always do only those things which please God alone in
reverential fear and worship and things that also give respect to human beings.
It means an assurance of an eternity
in heaven whenever the person exits this world at death or at Rapture shortly
when the Lord Jesus Christ comes to take His own ready and obedient children.
Dear friend, unless a person is
born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God. Good deeds alone will get anyone
into heaven. It is Jesus Christ, the Messiah Who alone is the Bridge that gets
any ready, willing and obedient child of His into heaven.
This is a very serious matter that
no one should take for granted. There is no sentiments about it.
I tell you, it really does not
matter whatever else anyone believes and must have told you. It is a fact I have
just shared. Please think deeply about this because it is the game changer for
every human who will walk the face of this earth.
Do not say nobody told you.
