A WORD FOR THE PERSON WHO TAKES GOD’S GRACE FOR GRANTED
Ever since the Lord
Jesus Christ left His Glorious Throne in Heaven, came into this world as a
human, died for the redemption of mankind and left the Gospel for Christians to
share with others, satan has been trying all means to distract Christians and
create confusion in their understanding of the Gospel.
A time was in the Church’s
history when there was debate on the eternal Divinity of the Lord Jesus Christ,
with some people falsely proclaiming that there was a time when only God the
Father existed and later on He created God the Son, our Lord Jesus Christ.
Years later, a certain priest
called Arius continued to propagate this false doctrine and it gained wide
spread acceptance in his time until during the first church council of Nicaea convened
by the Emperor Constantine the Great in 325 where this false doctrine then called
Arianism was disproved through the power of God’s Holy Spirit speaking through
genuine men of God.
There have been other
false doctrines propagated over the ages for which I would not want to dwell on
in this discuss.
However, one false
doctrine that has gained ground in this end of the church age is the one on
grace as a licence to sin. This false teaching claims that since the Lord Jesus
Christ has died for us and grace abounds, then when the born again Christian who
has believed and accepted Jesus sins, God no longer sees him as the sinner but
Christ who took our sins away.
As a result, the devil
has used this false teaching to deceive many professed Christians who are now
living and swimming in sin while claiming the false doctrine of eternal
security, that once saved, forever saved.
The Bible has many
passages to disprove this false doctrine and indeed, those who follow this false
teaching are in danger of going to hell and can even lose their salvation here
on earth and be forever damned.
I will give just one Scripture to back my comment
here and that Scripture is found in Hebrews 6:4-6 (AMPC),
“4 For it is impossible [to restore and bring
again to repentance] those who have been once for all enlightened, who have
consciously tasted the heavenly gift and have become sharers of the Holy
Spirit,
5 And have felt how good the Word of God is and the mighty powers
of the age and world to
come,
6 If they then deviate from the faith and turn away from their allegiance–[it is impossible] to bring
them back to repentance, for (because, while, as long as) they nail upon the
cross the Son of God afresh [as far as they are concerned] and are holding
[Him] up to contempt and shame and public disgrace.
Dear friend, this
passage of Holy Scripture tells us that someone who has attained maturity in
relationship with God through the Holy Spirit and tasted Jesus Christ, the
Heavenly Gift and by God’s Divine will operates the power of the Holy Spirit
through discernment and then deliberately returns to sin cannot be restored
again to repentance.
This means the person is
already damned and destined for hell even while alive here on earth. Such person
already shares the same fate with the devil and demons (fallen angels) who know
God as their Creator but deliberately chose to rebel against His Divine
Authority as the Supreme Ruler of the Universe.
Please take note here
that this decision by God applies to matured Christians of the Faith as against
baby Christians who are just starting their Christian race and do not yet
understand many things concerning God and still need the milk of the Gospel to enable
them grow to spiritual maturity in Christ Jesus.
Let me use an analogy
here to throw more light on this point. If you are a parent with a baby child
of between 2-4 years old and that baby misbehaves, you would overlook the
offence because you know the child has not yet reached the age of understanding
of right from wrong.
However, when that child
reaches the age of understanding to know right from wrong, when you give an
instruction to that child and that child deliberately flouts your instruction,
would you be happy with your child?
The answer is no.
You would react to
discipline that child and when the child asks for forgiveness, you would afterwards
forgive the child, wouldn’t you? Yes, you would because of your love for the
fruit of your body, your child.
What if that child
continues to flout the same instruction afterwards as he or she matures in
life, would you still be happy with the child flouting the very same
instruction? Of course you would be upset at the child.
For some parents, it
gets to a point when they would eventually disown the child who has now become
an adult, knows right from wrong, but continues to do wrong and cause severe
pain to the parents.
This is why some parents
deliberately leave out their rebellious child or children from their will and
give their estate to their child or children that gave them joy and obeyed
their instructions.
Dear friend, this
analogy should tell any discerning mind reading this piece that just as a human
parent would become upset at a child (adult) who deliberately does wrong to
offend that parent, God Almighty and Father of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ
would be upset at a matured, Holy Spirit-filled Christian that deliberately and
wilfully disobeys God’s commandments.
Let the propagators of
the false doctrine or teaching on eternal security (one saved, forever saved
regardless of lifestyle choices whether right or wrong) take admonition from
this message and retrace their steps before it is too late.
Every sin a Christian
commits offends God Almighty and nails the Lord Jesus Christ again to the
Cross!!
Time is running out
because Jesus Christ is coming now. Amend your ways before it is too late. Do not
say nobody told or warned you because you have been warned by this message.
May the good Lord bless
you as you heed His Word today, act on it and share with others in the Purest
Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.
