A MOTHER’S LOVE
Jeremiah 31:20 (AMPC)
“Is Ephraim My dear
son? Is he a darling child and beloved?
For as often as I speak against him, I do [earnestly] remember him still. Therefore,
My affection is stirred and My
heart yearns for him; I will surely have mercy, pity, and loving-kindness for him, says the
Lord.”
Dear people of God, I once heard a true story of a mother and her last
child. This mother has 9 children but the last one gives her constant trouble
most of the time.
This mother is advanced in age and so is not as swift as she was in her
younger days.
There was a day she received a report that the military authorities had
arrested a group of young men and her last child happens to be one of them.
This mother became agitated and frantically left everything to go look
for this last child who was in trouble.
She took her walking stick, and even took some money with her in case
the military authorities demanded for a ‘ransom’ to free her child.
When she got to the place, she told them what brought her there and the
military personnel were shocked to see an elderly woman at their premises. She was
accorded respect and a fine officer gentleman attended to her.
He requested for the child’s name by which he is known and she mentioned
it. When they checked their list, they could not find such name and then by Divine
intervention, mama called another name the child bears and they said that name
was also not on their list.
However, there was a match in one of the names and when the officer
mentioned it, mama confirmed that was the child’s name.
The officer then sent for the child and when he was brought in, mama
brought out her money and handed it over to the officer, who politely declined
and told her it was not necessary.
The officer then rebuked the child for causing his elderly mother such
inconvenience and gave him a stern warning never to be found in the company of miscreants
as he could lose his life next time if the soldiers took action against them.
In fact, one of the detainees had attempted to fight with the soldiers
at the point of arrest and the soldiers promptly gunned him down and he died.
For mama and her child, however, Providence was at work because no harm
had come to her child.
The officer then made a shocking move by dipping his hand into his
pocket, brought out some of his own personal money and handed over to Mama. He also
instructed a military vehicle to convey mama back to her base with the child.
How beautiful!!
On one of the occasions, the eldest child of the family had asked their
mother why she kept tolerating the recalcitrance of his brother, mama’s last
child, to which mama asserted that though the child was bad, he still belonged
to her like all the other children including him, the eldest.
Dear friends, this is a true story and it reminds me so much of God and
humans, His own creation.
In spite of our sinfulness, stubbornness, wickedness, etc, God Almighty
and Father of our Lord and Saviour Jesus still loves us. In fact, God’s love
for us is so intense that He continually reaches out to us to repent from our
sins and return to Him.
God uses Gospel tracts, the Internet, Television, Radio, Crusades, Gospel
literature, the Holy Bible, Gospel Music, Outreach programmes, etc to speak to His
children all over the world.
The message is the same: turn away from your sins and come back to Me
(God Almighty). Confess your sins, forsake them, accept Jesus Christ as your
Lord and Saviour, study and meditate on My Word in the Holy Bible and then obey
My commandments in the Holy Bible without compromise.
This is the simple message and this message would never stop being
broadcasted until the church age ends very shortly on the Day the Lord Jesus
Christ comes in Rapture to take away His children who have heeded and complied
with the message.
Dear friend, once this happens, the presence of God would depart from
this world for 7 whole years, during which time the anti-Christ, the man of sin
and lawlessness would reign and decapitate all who undermine or reject his authority.
Amongst those who would be affected are the unsaved who rejected the
Gospel message of repentance and salvation. Unfortunately, even those who
profess Christianity today but are living a double life of sin and compromise
in disobedience to God’s righteous demands would miss rapture and the
anti-Christ would mercilessly deal with them.
This is guaranteed to happen and the Holy Bible, the infallible Word of
God refers to this future sad era in human history as the Great Tribulation –
Matthew 24:21-22; Daniel 12:1.
As I send this message and as you read it, the Lord is advising you and
also warning you to heed His advice and warning.
God does this out of love for us, again, as our Creator.
Please heed this warning, dear friend and decide for Christ today and
now, for tomorrow may be too late.
May the good Lord bless you as you heed His Word today, act on it and
share with others in Jesus’ Most Powerful Name, Amen.
