ACCEPT ONLY WHAT GOD HAS SAID CONCERNING YOU IN HIS WORD IN THE HOLY BIBLE
Dear friend, if you have
been following my posts on this blog, you would have noticed by now that I keep
making emphasis on the need for one to study, meditate and activate God’s Word
over his or her life.
One reason I do this is
because God in His infinite mercy and love has made me understand through
several media – Christian books, television, church sermons – the power in His
Word in the Holy Bible.
For instance, the Holy Bible tells in Acts 4:11-12
(AMPC), “This [Jesus] is the Stone which
was despised and rejected
by you, the builders, but which has become the Head of the corner [the
Cornerstone]. [Ps. 118:22.]
12 And
there is salvation in and through
no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by and in which we must be saved.
This Scripture tells us
that it is only through the Lord Jesus Christ that all human beings must be
saved.
You simply cannot rely
on anyone else because Jesus Christ is God and the Word of God – John 1:1. Let us
look at this second Scripture in John 1:1 (AMPC), “IN THE beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word
was with God, and the Word was God Himself.
Let us consider a third
Scripture in Hebrews 4:12 (AMPC), “For
the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power [making it active,
operative, energizing, and effective]; it is sharper than any two-edged sword,
penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of life (soul) and [the
immortal] spirit, and of joints and marrow [of the deepest parts of our
nature], exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart.”
From these 3 Scriptures,
you can see the connection between the Lord Jesus Christ as Saviour, as God, as
God’s Word and the life and power in God’s Word.
Every Word God speaks is
alive and full of power as the first part of Hebrews 4:12 makes us understand.
What this means is that
you must deliberately speak God’s Word over any and every situation you
encounter in life. It also means you must study the Holy Bible to even know what
God has said through His Holy Spirit inspiring men to write it down for
posterity, which includes today’s Christians.
I will share with you a
testimony to shed more light on my point.
On Christian television
last night, I watched a lady evangelist testify how she encountered a 10-year
old boy in Guatemala in Central America who was diagnosed with Acquired Immune Deficiency
Syndrome (AIDS) and tuberculosis as an opportunistic consequence of AIDs.
It was reported that
this 10-year old had about 2 weeks to live and then die. The lady evangelist
said in spite of the boy’s condition and persistent cough (effect of
tuberculosis), she hugged him and using the Name of Jesus Christ she rebuked
the spirit of death over his life and declared the life of Jesus Christ over
him.
The lady took the boy to
the hospital where he was admitted and tests were run on him and the test
results confirmed he had AIDS and tuberculosis.
When the doctor informed
her the boy had tuberculosis while pointing at a bottle specimen taken from
him, the lady evangelist refused to accept the result and told the doctor the
boy does not have the disease in the Name of Jesus Christ.
Each time the doctor
pointed at the bottle to say it was tuberculosis, each time the lady evangelist
declined and said the boy does not have it in Jesus Name.
The doctor then became
angry and left and then stopped, pointed at the bottle and repeated the word tuberculosis
but the lady insisted the boy does not have it in Jesus Name.
Dear friend, after 4
days, another set of tests were run on the boy and as God Almighty, Father of
our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ would have it happen, the results of the
tests showed tuberculosis and AIDs were not found in the boy any longer!!
The doctor did not call
the lady evangelist directly to inform her but got someone else to make the
call.
How great is our God!! Glory
be to His Holy Name forever and ever, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
God gave this miracle to
honour His Word and to confirm the confession of the lady evangelist over the
boy.
Yes, it was a fact that
the boy had AIDS and tuberculosis as the test results showed. However, the Word
of God is Truth and as Jesus said in John 8:32, you shall know the Truth of His
Word and that Truth shall set you FREE.
When the lady evangelist
was confessing that the boy did not have tuberculosis, she was quoting and confirming
God’s Word in Matthew 8:17, “And
thus He fulfilled what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah, He Himself (Jesus
Christ) took [in order to carry away] our weaknesses and infirmities and bore
away our diseases.
When Jesus died on the
Cross of Calvary for the sins of all mankind, He also took our weaknesses and
infirmities and bore away our diseases on His righteous body.
Nowhere is it written in
the Holy Bible that Jesus ever had sickness or disease of any kind because He
was as 100% man here on earth, a person of exceptional faith so sickness could
never get into Him.
However, as the lady
evangelist also stated that the Spirit of God told her, it was when Jesus in
the garden of Gethsemane prayed that not His will but God’s will be done, that
was when He gave permission and when He was struck by the Roman soldiers and injuries
inflicted on Him, sickness and disease of mankind in addition to our sins were
laid on Him.
And as we are told in 1
Peter 2:24, “by His stripes, we WERE healed.” Notice it says WERE and not ARE,
which means it has already happened at the Cross of Calvary.
This means sickness and
disease should never be found in anyone who genuinely accepts, follows and proclaims
Christ as his or her Messiah and conscientiously obeys His commandments in the
Holy Bible because Christ has already taken it away at Calvary.
Dear friend, this is why
we as Christians must accept and declare until there is a physical
manifestation of whatever God has said concerning us in His Word. That is how
to exercise your faith to get results.
The Good News is that
this benefit is for all Christians even if you just became a Believer today. However,
if you fail to exercise this God-given right of yours as a Christian by simple
belief and declaration of God’s written Word until it manifests physically in
your life, you will fail to acquire the benefits.
The Good News I also
have is that this benefit is equally available for a non-Christian and indeed
all mankind, on the simple condition that they believe and accept what God has
said in His Word concerning the Lord Jesus Christ.
It essence, they must
become Christians.
What God has said is
stated in John 3:16 (AMPC), “For
God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten
(unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him
shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting)
life.
This is the message of the Gospel and it is for every human being on
this earth.
Today, God is asking you, dear friend reading this, to accept this
message so you can not only benefit here on earth but attain eternal life when
you depart this world.
Come today and now, for tomorrow may be too late.

you as you heed His Word today, act on it and share with others in the most Merciful
Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
