THE SPIRITUALLY BLIND CRITICISES GOD’S WORD

2 Corinthians 4:3-4 (AMPC)

“3 But even if our Gospel (the glad tidings) also be hidden (obscured and covered up with a veil that hinders the knowledge of God), it is hidden [only] to those who are perishing and obscured [only] to those who are spiritually dying and veiled [only] to those who are lost.

4 For the god of this world has blinded the unbelievers' minds [that they should not discern the truth], preventing them from seeing the illuminating Light of the Gospel of the Glory of Christ (the Messiah), Who is the Image and Likeness of God.”


Dear people of God, there are a number of people, unbelievers, whose pre-occupation is to look for “faults” in the Holy Bible, the infallible Word of God and open talk about them in a bid to justify their position as non-Christians or unbelievers.

As you can see, today’s lead Holy Bible text above tells us that the Gospel of Christ is hidden only to the spiritually dying and veiled only to the lost.

The Bible further makes us understand that it is the god of this world, satan, who has blinded the unbelievers’ minds from discerning the Truth that is God’s Word.

Unfortunately, many of them do not realize it. Amongst these group of unfortunate folks are those who claim they are worshipping God in their own way and not the way God Himself has revealed and commanded in the Holy Bible.

There are those who call themselves atheists while another group call themselves free thinkers. They claim they don’t believe in God or anyone but today’s lead text shows they have a master, satan, the god of this world who controls their minds whether they believe it or not.

Whatever group or name they adopt, they are in dire need of repentance and salvation because Jesus Christ’s second coming is imminent and such group of people would certainly miss the Rapture of the saints of God who are alive when it happens.

Yesterday, I was reading the Bible book of 1 Chronicles Chapter 1 and it gives the genealogy or lineage of a number of known and not well-known Bible characters.

It is common knowledge that the Bible was written by humans under the inspiration of God’s Holy Spirit – 2 Timothy 3:16.

Some people argue that the Bible is not God’s Word because it contains errors. When you read 1 Chronicles 1, Matthew 1:1-17, Numbers 1:1-46, Numbers 2 and a number of other chapters of the Book of Numbers and other Bible Books, you can see a detailed and accurate record of events and figures of human ancestry.

Dear friend, I want you to ponder at this point and take note that the persons who penned down these records of the Holy Bible did not know these persons they wrote about and did not even live at the time they were here on earth.

So how else do you think they could produce such accurate records if the Omniscient Holy Spirit of God was not involved in giving them this information?

It is only a spiritually blind person who would argue against this fact. I must let you know, dear friend, the Bible is the ONLY detailed, accurate and fully documented record of human ancestry in this world we live in.

It is God Almighty and Father of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ Who has made it so and for the sole purpose of making all human beings to know what transpired at the beginning when this world was created, how the disobedience of God’s commandment by our first parents Adam and Eve through satan’s deceit brought sin and death into this world.

The Bible further documents that in spite of this unfortunate incident, God Himself promised to send a Saviour, a Messiah, a Redeemer, into the world – Genesis 3:15 and God kept repeating this promise through His prophets to successive generations until it came to fruition with the arrival on earth of the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Most High God.

Jesus Christ came into this world to die for the sins caused at the beginning, to destroy what satan had done and to reconcile mankind back to God.

Jesus accomplished this task when He willingly gave up His precious life through crucifixion and death at the Cross of Calvary.

Jesus had prior to this time formed a group of Apostles and Disciples to become “fishers of men” to share the Gospel or Good News of God’s Salvation to the whole world through Him.

The task of these Apostles and Disciples was clear – go into the entire world, preach the Gospel of what God has done through Jesus Christ and bring all humans from sin and satan’s dominion back to God. 

The Holy Spirit of God would accomplish the remaining task of guiding and keeping them as these new converts yield themselves sincerely to Him.

God promises in His Word to draw close to those who draw close to Him- James 4:8. He also promises to be a Father to them and to provide all their material needs as they obey His commandments – Matthew 6:33.

This message has not changed and will never change until the Rapture takes place very, very shortly when the Lord Jesus Christ will appear a second time to take those who are ready for Him by their simple, genuine obedience to all His commandments.

This is why Christians all over the world are commanded to engage in Evangelism in spreading this message of Repentance and Salvation found only in Christ Jesus and no one else – Mark 16:15-16.

Dear friend, I have taken time to state what the Word of God in the Holy Bible says in summary. One thing is certain. There is no force in this world that can stop God’s plan as far as the Rapture is concerned and the preaching of the Gospel to lost souls as I am doing now.

The question to you, as you read this, is, would you believe and accept the Truth of God’s Word and come to Him sincerely, or would you continue to allow satan, the god of this world to blind your mind from the Truth found only in Christ?

I want you to think about this very carefully and come to your own conclusion having heard the Truth today.

Today and now, is the moment of decision, for tomorrow or later may be too late.

May the good Lord bless you as you heed His Word today, act on it and share with others in the Merciful Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.

HOW DO YOU CONTROL VIOLENCE IN PEOPLE?

Hebrews 12:14 (AMPC)  “ Strive to live in peace with everybody and pursue that consecration  and holiness without which no one will [ever] see the Lord.”   Dear people of God, I read sometime in December 2019 ago of a police inspector in Nigeria who shot and killed his colleague, a corporal, and the same shot injured another colleague, a deputy Superintendent of police after which the police inspector took his own life.   What could have led to such violence?   I also read of another unfortunate story of a lady killed December 25, 2019, Christmas Day, by her husband who had beaten her to a coma and then ran away after discovering what he had done. GOD CANNOT VIOLATE HIS WORD

  Psalm 89:34  “My covenant I will not violate, nor will I alter the utterance of My lips.” Dear people of God, today’s lead Bible text in Psalm 89:34 is a profound statement by God Almighty and Father of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. What this statement from God means is that there is nothing He has said in His Word that He will fail to perform.
