WELCOME TO 2019

Proverbs 16:9 (AMPC)

“A man's mind plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps and makes them sure.” 

Dear people of God, once again I wish you all a very Happy and Prosperous New Year 2019 in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

We thank God for all His mercies and blessings upon us and our families in 2018.

We look forward to a much brighter and better year in 2019 and beyond.

As today’s lead Holy Bible text reminds us, we may have our plans but it is Almighty God and Father of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ Who directs our steps and makes them sure.

For this to happen, we must draw close to God. We must refrain from whatever offends Him. We must love God above all else and love our neighbour as our selves.

We must pursue peace with all humans and holiness without which no person would ever see God.

We must believe and trust God as the only One Who can provide our needs as our Creator and loving Father. God has unlimited resources to meet all our needs and it is when we have a sincere relationship with Him and ask for His favours that we would obtain it in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

I want to leave you with 10 Resolutions you can make and keep for the New Year 2019 as follows:

(1)          Pray everyday morning and night with your family members and during the day at 12 noon. – 1 Thessalonians 5:17.

(2)          Study (read and meditate) at least One Chapter of God’s Word in the Holy Bible daily. The entrance of God’s Word gives light to all our activities in life and guarantees success. – Hebrews 4:12; Psalm 119:130; Joshua 1:8.

(3)          Make a conscious decision to develop an intimate relationship with God as your Father and to obey all His commandments in the Holy Bible. – James 4:8-9

(4)          Drop all unrighteous labours and engage in legitimate and righteous labours that glorify God. – 2 Corinthians 6:14-18

(5)          Engage in Evangelism. Tell others about the love of Jesus Christ as seen in your life. Tell them also that Jesus’ second coming is imminent. Win souls for Christ as He has commanded us. – Mark 16:15; Proverbs 11:30.

(6)          Contribute financially to the work of the Gospel. Pay your tithes, give offerings to the Church and the less privileged and make donations to projects that promote the work of God in taking the Gospel to the lost souls who are in need of Repentance and Salvation found only in Jesus Christ.

This is the only guarantee of financial prosperity for every genuine Christian as a child of God. – Malachi 3:10-12.

(7)          Live in peace and agape love with every single human being. Readily forgive those who offend you so that you do not open the door for satan to afflict you. – 1 Thessalonians 5:15; Matthew 6:14-15; Hebrews 12:14.

(8)          Do not engage in destructive or negative thinking because that only opens the door for satan and his agents to afflict you. Do not worry, fear or be anxious over any matter but rather take it to the Lord in prayer and just believe Jesus will certainly answer your request. – 2 Timothy 1:7; Philippians 4:6.

(9)          Attend Church every Sunday compulsorily and during the week whenever possible. Engage in regular fasting and prayer at least one day every week and when your church calls for one. Fasting helps to mortify your flesh and build you up spiritually – Hebrews 10:25; Ezra 8:23.

(10)       Take God seriously this year than in any other year of your life. Begin every day with praise, worship and thanksgiving. During the day and at the end of each day, ensure to thank God for everything that has happened.

I must emphasize here that a grateful heart in any and every circumstance will always attract constant blessings from God. – 1 Thessalonians 5:18-19.


Finally, live consciously every day with the mind-set that the Lord Jesus Christ may appear anytime without warning as He has been telling us in His Word and recent revelations to Christians all over the world.

May the good Lord bless you as you heed His Word today, act on it and share with others in Jesus’ Most Powerful Name, Amen.

HOW DO YOU CONTROL VIOLENCE IN PEOPLE?

Hebrews 12:14 (AMPC)  “ Strive to live in peace with everybody and pursue that consecration  and holiness without which no one will [ever] see the Lord.”   Dear people of God, I read sometime in December 2019 ago of a police inspector in Nigeria who shot and killed his colleague, a corporal, and the same shot injured another colleague, a deputy Superintendent of police after which the police inspector took his own life.   What could have led to such violence?   I also read of another unfortunate story of a lady killed December 25, 2019, Christmas Day, by her husband who had beaten her to a coma and then ran away after discovering what he had done. The police have since found and arrested him.   Reports have it that the man was fond of beating his late wife at the slightest provocation, which has eventually led to her death in this latest incident.   Again, what could have caused this incessant violence?   Medical experts claim that humans have 2 s...

GOD CANNOT VIOLATE HIS WORD

  Psalm 89:34  “My covenant I will not violate, nor will I alter the utterance of My lips.” Dear people of God, today’s lead Bible text in Psalm 89:34 is a profound statement by God Almighty and Father of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. What this statement from God means is that there is nothing He has said in His Word that He will fail to perform. A sensible Christian who understands this will look for what God has said by careful, meditative study of God’s Word found only in the Holy Bible, thank God joyously for it, claim it and God will surely perform what His Word has stated. I make bold to say here that the Christian who does not study the Word of God in the Holy Bible to claim the promises therein is only cheating himself of herself.
