WHY SPEND YOUR TIME FIGHTING A DEFEATED FOE?

It is so unfortunate these days to see Christians, especially in Africa, focusing their time and energy on fighting the devil in their prayers. What they should rather be doing is enforcing their God-given victory and authority in Christ Jesus.

Let us examine one Scripture to make this point clearer in Colossians 2:13-15, “13 And you who were dead in trespasses and in the uncircumcision of your flesh (your sensuality, your sinful carnal nature), [God] brought to life together with [Christ], having [freely] forgiven us all our transgressions,

14 Having cancelled and blotted out and wiped away the handwriting of the note (bond) with its legal decrees and demands which was in force and stood against us (hostile to us). This [note with its regulations, decrees, and demands] He set aside and cleared completely out of our way by nailing it to [His] cross.

15 [God] disarmed the principalities and powers that were ranged against us and made a bold display and public example of them, in triumphing over them in Him and in it [the cross].”

Dear friend, from this Scripture, a Christian can appreciate the enormity of God’s love for us and what took place at the Cross where Jesus died for all mankind.

When you walk in this understanding of the fact that Jesus conquered every work of the devil at the Cross of Calvary, then all you would need to do is to believe and enforce that victory anytime you encounter the devil or his agents – demons and human.

All you would have to do is to command them to leave in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ and they would depart immediately because of the authority Christ has given you.

It does not matter whether it is an illness, financial difficulty or whatever untoward problem or situation. It must give way when you believe and enforce your victory in Christ.

Does this mean God hates all other of His creatures who are not Christians? No, not at all.

All God is saying in His Word in the Holy Bible is that this enormous blessing is open and available to anyone who is wise enough to realize it, accept it, believe it and become a Christian.

This is why the Lord Jesus Christ commanded Christians to go preach the Gospel or Good News of Repentance and Salvation to all creatures in Mark 16:15-16.

All who believe will qualify for these benefits. All who reject it would not benefit and automatically disqualify themselves from it.

Even more than that, those who reject this Truth of God’s Word are in danger of an eternal damnation in HELL.

Why would anyone want to do that to himself or herself when God’s FREE gift of eternal life in Jesus Christ has been made available?

So, dear friend who is a Christian reading this, and still fighting the devil in your manner of prayer, you are engaged in battle with an already defeated foe.

Your prayer should dwell on worshipping, praising and thanking God always for this victory in Christ. Your prayer should be for God to open the eyes of understanding of Christians who are yet to understand this victory.

Your prayer should also be especially for God to pour out His Spirit for manifestation of signs and wonders amongst non-Christians as the Word of God is preached amongst them.

You also must go and preach the Gospel, just as I am doing now with this message so that Christians can benefit and non-Christians can understand, believe and come to Jesus Christ for eternal life as they obey His commandments in the Holy Bible genuinely without compromise.

This is the Gospel. This is the Great Commission. This is what Jesus expects us Christians to do.

May the good Lord bless you as you heed His Word today, act on it and share with others in Jesus’ Holy Name, Amen.

HOW DO YOU CONTROL VIOLENCE IN PEOPLE?

Hebrews 12:14 (AMPC)  “ Strive to live in peace with everybody and pursue that consecration  and holiness without which no one will [ever] see the Lord.”   Dear people of God, I read sometime in December 2019 ago of a police inspector in Nigeria who shot and killed his colleague, a corporal, and the same shot injured another colleague, a deputy Superintendent of police after which the police inspector took his own life.   What could have led to such violence?   I also read of another unfortunate story of a lady killed December 25, 2019, Christmas Day, by her husband who had beaten her to a coma and then ran away after discovering what he had done. GOD CANNOT VIOLATE HIS WORD

  Psalm 89:34  “My covenant I will not violate, nor will I alter the utterance of My lips.” Dear people of God, today’s lead Bible text in Psalm 89:34 is a profound statement by God Almighty and Father of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
