TALK IS EXPENSIVE, NOT CHEAP (2)

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.”


Dear people of God, in the first part of the post on this topic, we saw evidence from the Word of God that every human being born into this world would account for their words before the Judgement Seat of Christ Jesus.

We saw that contrary to the popular saying that “talk is cheap”, the words we speak carry more weight than we have ever known or understood.

We saw that the words we speak derive from the thoughts in our hearts and these words also shape the direction of our lives because the Lord Jesus Christ has made it clear that we shall have WHATSOEVER we speak - Mark 11:23 (KJV).

For instance, the individual who is always complaining about ill health and gives it priority in his or her life would always encounter illness.

The person who talks lack and poverty would always struggle to live a decent comfortable life.

The person who always talks death would not live long.

I can go on and on to emphasize the point that life and death are in the power of the tongue and those who love it would eat its fruit.

So in essence, talk is expensive and not cheap.

So how does one come out of this situation to ensure we only speak words that edify us and move us in the direction God has already determined for His children who are in Christ?

The way to do so is to build your faith in God and faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God –Romans 10:17.

In one of his many sermons, Kenneth E. Hagin speaking on hindrances to faith says one major problem with Christians is that they do not know who they are in Christ. You can only get this information from the Holy Bible, the infallible Word of God.

From 168 hours in a week, many Christians only spend about 4 hours in Church every Sunday speaking faith words. Thereafter, they spend the remaining 164 hours of the week speaking negative words into their lives and they wonder why their lives are not going the way they expect.

As a result of failure after failure arising from speaking careless and negative words, some dabble into ungodly practices – stealing at work, occultism, envy, jealousy, and some even castigate their Maker and say Christianity is not working for them, whereas they are the ones who have failed to adhere to God’s simple instruction to live only by His Word and not by bread alone – Matthew 4:4.

Dear friend, take a Bible, ask God in prayer to show you what belongs to you as a Christian, His child. Carefully study, write or type it out, print it and on a daily basis, speak only those Scriptures, personalizing it for yourself.

Meditate on these Scriptures and no matter what physical reality you see of your current situation, thank God Almighty in worship and praise for these covenant promises, speak only that every day and always without complaining and because you shall have WHATSOEVER you say, your life shall begin to align with these Scriptures and it would become visible for you and others to see the progress you are making.

Don’t bother how those things would come to play out in your life because that is God’s area of operation and it is simply none of your business. Yours is to believe what God has said in His Word in your heart, declare it with your mouth and earnestly expect it to happen and it sure would.

This is how faith works. This is how the Word of God works and this is how you can overcome any situation as a child of God.

This is how you can prove to others that a Christian is not an ordinary person and they would come to know what you are doing and you in turn would tell them what the Lord Jesus has done for you and can do for them when they surrender sincerely and obediently to His commandments in the Holy Bible and make Jesus Christ Saviour and Lord of their lives.

Remember, it is not just to live a victorious life that God wants for you. He wants you to cooperate with Him through the Gospel to save others as well because salvation or soul winning is the greatest miracle heaven celebrates.

HOW DO YOU CONTROL VIOLENCE IN PEOPLE?

Hebrews 12:14 (AMPC)  “ Strive to live in peace with everybody and pursue that consecration  and holiness without which no one will [ever] see the Lord.”   Dear people of God, I read sometime in December 2019 ago of a police inspector in Nigeria who shot and killed his colleague, a corporal, and the same shot injured another colleague, a deputy Superintendent of police after which the police inspector took his own life.   What could have led to such violence?   I also read of another unfortunate story of a lady killed December 25, 2019, Christmas Day, by her husband who had beaten her to a coma and then ran away after discovering what he had done. GOD CANNOT VIOLATE HIS WORD

  Psalm 89:34  “My covenant I will not violate, nor will I alter the utterance of My lips.” Dear people of God, today’s lead Bible text in Psalm 89:34 is a profound statement by God Almighty and Father of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. What this statement from God means is that there is nothing He has said in His Word that He will fail to perform.
