WHY SHOULD A CHRISTIAN HATE ANYONE CREATED IN GOD’S IMAGE AND LIKENESS?

1 John 3:13-15 (NKJV)

13 Do not marvel, my brethren, if the world hates you. 14 We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love his brother abides in death. 15 Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.

Dear people of God, Christians who pray for their human enemies to die are praying out of ignorance and in direct contrast to what the Lord Jesus Christ commanded.

The reason such Christians pray this way is because according to them their human enemy does not wish them well and wants them to suffer and even to die.

These Christians are stating the obvious but reacting in sin.

Such folks forget that non-Christians are under the influence of the devil, who is the god of this world – 2 Corinthians 4:4. Since it is known to Christians that the devil hates them, why would these Christians ever expect the devil’s controlled human agents to love them?

As you can even see from the first statement in today’s lead Holy Bible text, Christians are admonished not to marvel if the world (controlled by the devil) hates them.

The reason the devil hates Christians is because he knows the Christian is the ONLY person qualified to enter heaven at death as result of his belief and acceptance of the Truth of Christ’s redemptive death for all humans on the Cross of Calvary and His glorious resurrection from death 3 days later as He promised.

Unfortunately, the devil’s human agents who act under his influence as enemies of Christians are not aware that unless they repent and come to Jesus Christ, they are destined for eternal damnation when they die. If they knew, they certainly would not join the devil to cause harm to their fellow humans who are Christian believers.

However, Christians are warned in the last verse of today’s lead Bible text above that anyone who hates his brother (or sister) is a murderer and no murderer has eternal life abiding in him or her.

So why should a Christian ever pray for another human opposing him or her to die? Is it because the Christian loves the person or rather reciprocates the hatred the person has shown in character?

Whenever you disobey God’s commandments and try to justify it even when you are shown the truth in His Word, what you are telling God is that you are in charge of your life and not Him, God Almighty and Father of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.


Has God in Luke 10:19 not given you authority to tread over snakes and scorpions and over ALL the powers of the enemy and assured you that nothing shall by any means hurt you?

The same God has also told you, Christian, in Luke 10:20 that you should not rejoice that the demons are subject to you in His Name, the Name of Jesus Christ, but that you should rejoice that your name is written in the Book of Life in heaven.

When you therefore disobey God’s Word by your own action of hating another human like you borne out of fear and ignorance, are you still expecting your name to be written in the Book of Life? No way!

Therefore, stop hating others. Stop praying for your human enemies to die. Stop wishing evil to your human enemies.

Rather, do what God has commanded, which is to love them, pray for them and most importantly, share with them the Gospel of Repentance and Salvation found only in Christ Jesus so that they too can come out of darkness orchestrated by the devil into the Light of Christ and receive the same opportunity as you of an eternal life after death as long as they remain faithful and obedient children of God to His commandments in the Holy Bible.

You are called to love and not to hate. People will offend you but you must never hate them. Yes, you can discipline those under your authority but do not hate, do not pray for their damnation and do not send yourself to an eternal damnation when you allow your flesh to rule you rather than your reborn spirit ruled by God’s Holy Spirit.

HOW DO YOU CONTROL VIOLENCE IN PEOPLE?

Hebrews 12:14 (AMPC)  “ Strive to live in peace with everybody and pursue that consecration  and holiness without which no one will [ever] see the Lord.”   Dear people of God, I read sometime in December 2019 ago of a police inspector in Nigeria who shot and killed his colleague, a corporal, and the same shot injured another colleague, a deputy Superintendent of police after which the police inspector took his own life.   What could have led to such violence?   I also read of another unfortunate story of a lady killed December 25, 2019, Christmas Day, by her husband who had beaten her to a coma and then ran away after discovering what he had done.
