THE KING IS COMING (2)
Dear friend, we have
entered what is known worldwide as Christmas, the best season in the world.
It is the best season in
the world because the season commemorates the first coming of Jesus Christ the
Messiah, in fulfillment of God’s promise to send a Saviour into the world to
redeem mankind from the eternal consequence of sin.
Sin and death entered
the world as a result of the disobedience of our first parents Adam and Eve to
a simple command from God to them.
The devil was the brain
behind the evil scheme that led to sin and death entering the world when he
deceived, first Eve and then Adam into eating the forbidden fruit as God had
commanded them not to eat.
Mankind was thus spiritually
separated from God and destined to an eternal damnation in Hell, prepared
originally by God for the devil and his demons – Matthew 25:41.
However, as a result of
God’s unfailing love for His greatest creatures, humans, He, God, left His
glorious throne in Heaven and came into this world as a human to die an
agonizing death on the Cross of Calvary, the greatest act of God’s love that led
to Salvation and Redemption of all mankind from eternal damnation.
However, even though
this eternal life from Christ is available to all mankind, it is only those who
believe and accept what Jesus Christ did for us at Calvary that benefit from
eternal life Jesus freely gave to us.
Christmas is therefore a
commemoration of that great event when Christ came into this world as a human
being in fulfilment of God’s unfailing promise.
All over the world, a lot
of love is displayed by humans to each other during this season, even though
some of this love is ungodly and an anathema to what Christmas truly
represents.
We celebrate Christ at
Christmas and not sin as we find in very many quarters today. Very man drink alcohol,
buy alcohol for others, fornicate, commit adultery, steal and kill to obtain money
to celebrate the immorality associated with some in the name of celebrating
Christmas.
Christmas is a time of
sober reflection on what God did for us so we can appreciate and thank Him
immensely.
Jesus Christ the King
came the first time to redeem mankind and He is coming again this time around
to take His willing and obedient children.
Parents should teach
this Truth of the Gospel to their children, which has a beneficial spiritual implication
for the young minds of their kids.
It is not enough to buy
the kids gifts and take them out to sightseeing. You are doing them a great
injustice when you stop there because that is living according to the flesh
that the Bible warns us against.
You must explain the spiritual
significance of Christmas to the young minds of your kids so they too can
appreciate what God through Christ did for all mankind.
It is then that God
would be more than happy for you to celebrate Christmas with your kids and
family.
Take them to Church this
season, show them from the Word of God what Christmas represents – Luke 1:26-38;
2:1-20.
Dear friend, God loves
you, which is why you are seeing this message today.
God loves all mankind,
which is why He has commanded all Christians to share the Message of the Gospel
with others.
Don’t keep it to
yourself. Share with those who think and believe Christmas is just about
eating, drinking and sinning.
The King, Jesus Christ
the Messiah, is coming soon. Are you ready to receive Him?
May the good Lord bless
you as you heed His Word today, act on it and share with others in Jesus’ Most
Righteous Name, Amen.
Gabriel Ama.
