DEALING WITH GUILT OF SIN (2)

 Numbers 5:6-8 (AMPC)

“Say to the Israelites, when a man or woman commits any sin that men commit by breaking faith with the Lord, and that person is guilty,

7 Then he shall confess the sin which he has committed, and he shall make restitution for his wrong in full, and add a fifth to it, and give it to him whom he has wronged.

8 But if the man [wronged] has no kinsman to whom the restitution may be made, let it be given to the Lord for the priest, besides the ram of atonement with which atonement shall be made for the offender.”

Dear people of God, in the first part of the post on this topic, we examined how to deal with guilt of sin committed against God.

What we saw was that as a person is genuinely sorry and confesses the sin no matter how grievous, God would certainly forgive.

We saw that it is the devil that keeps reminding one of his or her past sins with a view to deceiving the person into believing that God would never forgive that sin and then to ultimately make the person fall headlong into sin and eventually into eternal damnation.

We saw that God does not permit anyone to commit sin under any circumstances and whoever makes a deliberate habit of committing sin is a slave of sin (John 8:34) and is of the devil (1 John 3:8).

Today, we want to continue this message with another very important point often overlooked by Christians.

Confession of sin may not be all that is required in certain cases. Restitution is also required as we see from today’s lead Holy Bible text, before God would accept repentance and I will give examples here:

ü  when you claim to be a Christian but fail to obey God to pay tithes (10% of your income from paid employment OR 10% of your profit from business OR even from money given to you as gifts LEGITIMATELY and not as bribes or extortion or robbery), you have automatically placed yourself under a curse as stated in Malachi 3:9.

Restitution is required to take yourself out of this curse by paying the tithes you owe God and obeying God in paying all subsequent tithes and first fruits (the entire difference between your old salary and the new salary as an employee from promotion or new employment) OR first additional income from a new business.

I must point out here that God only accepts tithes from income earned LEGITIMATELY from righteous labour or business that is not offensive to Him.

ü  restitution is required to return anything you have taken that does not belong to you. It is called stealing and must be fully restituted.

If a spouse takes the partner’s money without authorization, that is wrongdoing (all wrongdoing is sin – 1 John 5:17a)

If you go to borrow a match stick from your neighbour and you take two instead of one you requested, you must confess.

I am giving this example many would consider somewhat trivial for you to know the seriousness of this matter of restitution.

ü  a rapist must confess and apologize to his victim(s) as restitution

ü  a husband or wife who commits adultery must confess to the the other partner.

             Ã¼  a spouse must confess to the partner any medical condition he or she has                 that was previously hidden and then both partners would pray about it and                  God would answer their prayers.

             Ã¼  if you forge academic qualifications for entry into a higher institution or                      employment, you must confess to the right authorities and leave the                              institution or employment.

             Ã¼  it is wrong to use your employer’s resources for your own personal                                 advantage, example, using the organization’s time during agreed office hours              for your personal business without authorization.

             Many government employees at Federal, State and Local Government levels             are fond of this and they must repent and amend their ways before it is too                     late.

            Ã¼  It is wrong to use your company vehicle for your personal business without                 authorization. It is wrong to use company printer, photocopier, telephone,                     stationery, etc 

It is wrong to take anything that belongs to someone else or institution without authorization. Such item must be returned as we are told today.

Dear friend, we should continue to ask God for mercy and for Him to open our spiritual eyes of understanding (Ephesians 1:17-18) to know, obey and practise the Truth of His Word every single moment of our lives. 

Jesus Christ continues to warn that many Christians are today living a compromised life of sin because their pastors and spiritual leaders have deceived them with a watered down Gospel focused more on prosperity than on righteousness and holiness.

Do not take God for granted because you will be disappointed when the Rapture happens and you are left behind for the devil, anti-christ and their agents to torture without mercy.

You have just a few years to live here on earth and an eternity in the hereafter. Why compromise your eternity because of a short time in this world?

As you live an uncompromised life in obedience to God’s commandments in the Holy Bible, ensure to confess your sins and make restitution whenever required so that the guilt of sin is taken off you completely.

If you choose to only confess your sin without making restitution as God requires, you are only deceiving yourself because nobody can deceive God.

Dear friend, Jesus Christ is coming shortly to take ONLY those who are qualified according to His righteous standards in the Holy Bible.

Are you living a genuine life as His disciple? Are you ready for Him? Come to Jesus today, for tomorrow may be too late for you.

May the good Lord bless you as you heed His Word today, act on it and share with others in Jesus’ Most Righteous Name, Amen.
