AM I PERMITTED TO JUDGE CHRISTIANS?
1 Corinthians 5:9-13 (AMPC) “I
wrote you in my [previous] letter not to associate [closely and habitually]
with unchaste (impure) people– 10 Not
[meaning of course that you must] altogether shun the immoral people of this
world, or the greedy graspers and cheats and thieves or idolaters, since
otherwise you would need to get out of the world and human society
altogether! 11 But
now I write to you not to associate with anyone who bears the name of
[Christian] brother if he is known to be guilty of immorality or greed, or is
an idolater [whose soul is devoted to any object that usurps the place of God],
or is a person with a foul tongue [railing, abusing, reviling, slandering], or
is a drunkard or a swindler or a robber. [No] you must not so much as eat
with such a person. 12 What
[business] of mine is it and what right have I to judge outsiders? Is it
not those inside [the church] upon whom you are to pass disciplinary judgment
[passing censuring sentence on them as the facts require]? 13 God
alone sits in judgment on those who are outside. Drive out that wicked one from
among you [expel him from your church].” Dear people of God, one of the most common statements from some
professed Christians who continue to live a hypocritical life of sin in
defiance of God’s Divine laws is that the Bible says we should not judge and
that it is only God to Whom we should leave judgement. Unfortunately, the people who make this false statement cannot
show any proof from the Holy Bible because that is NOT what God’s Word says. In his Holy Spirit inspired letter to the Corinthians, the
Apostle Paul says he is permitted to judge anyone who bears the name of
Christian but who is living an immoral or sinful life in violation of God’s
laws. Even the Lord Jesus Christ says in John 7:24 (AMPC), “Be
honest in your judgment and do not decide at a glance (superficially and
by appearances); but judge fairly and righteously. Nowhere in the Holy Bible does it say one should not judge. What
the Bible says is that you should first judge yourself by right living
according to God’s Word before you can pass judgement or correction on others
according to the same Word of God. The Holy Bible says it is the same measure of judgement you mete
out to others by which you would be judged. Whenever you see someone doing something wrong and you correct
the person, you are judging the person but what is most important is your own
standing with God and your motive for judging the person. Unfortunately, there are many people who do not want to take
correction because they are enjoying the pleasures of sin but they do not
understand that no matter how young they appear physically, their spirit being
is getting older and older as a result of engaging in sin. Additionally, anyone who is living in sin is gambling with his
or her life because not only is such individual under the control of the devil,
once death comes, the person is certain to enter an eternal damnation in HELL
forever. No sinner will enter heaven and the only guarantee of entry into
heaven for any human being is by becoming born again, that is, a genuine
repentance towards God Almighty and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Eternity is NOT a trillion years because that has a time limit.
Whatever decisions you take here would surely impact your eternity so you have
to choose and act wisely in the fear of God Almighty and Father of my Saviour
and Lord Jesus Christ. Since Paul the Apostle says God would judge the non-Christians,
should Christians decline to tell non-Christians the Truth? Absolutely not. We must go on Evangelism as the Lord Jesus Christ has commanded
all His disciples in Mark 16:15-16 to go and preach the Gospel to all creatures
so they can know the Truth and come to the saving grace offered only by Jesus
Christ. So the summary of today’s message is that I must not associate
with anyone who professes Christianity but is habitually and deliberately living
in sin. I must NOT hate the person but I
must tell the person the Truth whether he or she is willing or unwilling to
hear. I must pray for them because no sinner will enter heaven. I must also preach the Gospel to non-Christians and pray for
their souls that the seed of God’s Word sown into their lives would germinate
and be watered by the Holy Spirit until they repent and surrender their lives
to Jesus Christ. Most importantly, I who am engaging in these activities that God
demands must ensure I am myself living a genuine Christian life in Truth,
Holiness and Righteousness in uncompromising obedience to God’s Word, otherwise,
I am just wasting my time and setting up myself for eternal damnation in HELL,
God forbid. This is God’s call for all Christians without any exception. Dear friend, Jesus Christ is coming shortly
to take in Rapture ONLY those who are qualified according to His righteous
standards in the Holy Bible. Are you living a genuine life as His disciple? Are you ready for
Him? Repent and come to Jesus today, for tomorrow may be too late for you. Once Jesus takes away His children, the entire earth would come under
God’s wrath and Divine judgement in a most terrible manner never experienced
before. Why do you risk your life in sin and risk the grave danger, pain
and suffering ahead and risk ultimately damning your soul forever in the lake
of fire? May the good Lord bless you as you heed His Word today, act on
it and share with others in Jesus’ Most Powerful Name, Amen. Gabriel Ama.x
