“Let
them alone and disregard them; they are blind guides and teachers.
And if a blind man leads a blind man, both will fall into a ditch.”
Dear people of God, today’s message is directed at church
members who support their pastors and priests even when what the parson is
preaching about or practising is glaringly wrong and at variance with God’s
Word.
In today’s lead Holy Bible text, the Lord Jesus was responding
to the wrong held view of the Scribes and Pharisees about ceremonial washing of
hands before eating.
The Lord Jesus Christ went on to state that what defiles a
person is not the food that enters the mouth into the body but rather foul words
that come from a person’s mouth originating from foul thoughts in his heart.
The Pharisees were obviously offended at Jesus’ correction and
this led the Lord Jesus to make the statement in today’s Scripture reference
above.
Just as in the time of the Lord as a human on this earth, so it
is today. If anyone dares criticise or aims to correct wrong teachings and
wrong practises of some Christian congregations, the pastors and members get
offended, hurl insults at the person and even threaten to kill the person in
some cases.
For instance, to get the facts of a report I came across
recently, I watched a video of a Nigerian pastor who in June 2021 in Nigeria
and July 2021 in the U.S.A. declared before his congregation that they would
begin to receive miracle alerts of money on their mobile phones.
The pastor stated that the angels of God would deposit the
monies. Shortly after, some members of the congregation began to report
receiving alerts of money in their bank account shown in their phones and in the
USA, one lady claimed the amount was so large her bank blocked her account.
Dear friend, the late Kenneth E. Hagin gave a testimony about
how the Lord Jesus Christ taught him about financial prosperity. One of the
things he said Jesus told him was that there was no money in heaven for He
(Jesus) to rain on anyone because all the money ever needed was right here on
earth.
Jesus said if He were to rain money from heaven it would be a
counterfeit and that He (Jesus) was NOT a counterfeiter.
Kenneth Hagin put into practise all the Lord taught him about
financial prosperity and he saw instant results in his financial fortunes.
Since there is no money in heaven, how are angels going to put
money into people’s phones? God is NOT a magician and so what this pastor was
teaching his people was magic.
It was reported that someone who criticised the pastor for this
act was arrested here in Nigeria and another person received death threats from
the members of this pastor’s congregation.
Is that Christianity to threaten people with death?
There is another Nigerian pastor who teaches that masturbation
and tattoos are not sin.
God warns us against ALL forms of sexual immorality in 1
Corinthians 6:18-20 and against tattoos in Leviticus 19:27.
There have been reports of pastors in some African countries who
spray insecticide on their congregation, give them Dettol to drink, make them
crawl on the floor to eat grass and one washed his face and head over the
bodies of his church members!
These are clear acts that show that these pastors are agents of
the devil because God created man in His own image and likeness and anyone who
dehumanizes fellow humans is insulting their Maker and is surely on his way to
an eternal damnation.
Again, I saw a video of an Anglican priest in Ghana who called 3
students of St Monica’s College of Education, an all girls’ school, to the
altar in the Church during a service and gave each of them a kiss on their lips
publicly.
What is most appalling is that some members of the congregation
who likely were other female students were highly excited about the immoral
act.
Dear friend, do you need any further evidence to show that this
priest is highly likely to be having ungodly carnal relations with these female
students?
Does God permit any person including ministers of the Gospel to
engage in intimate acts with others to whom they are not legally married? Is
that not immorality, a grave sin before God?
Are you a defender of your pastor or priest’s immoral and
ungodly behaviour and you are even ready to insult and fight others to prove
it?
God cannot be mocked. A person surely reaps what he or she sows
just as stated in Galatians 6:7.
You can fool humans but you cannot fool God.
Can you see why a Christian must have a genuine personal relationship
with God and daily pray and study God’s Word to know the Truth and run from doctrinal
error of all kinds against God’s Word?
If you belong to a church congregation where your preacher teaches
and practises errors that are offensive to God as confirmed from God’s Word
that you have studied and known, run away from such place and ask God to take
you to the right church and congregation.
Jesus called such Gospel ministers blind guides of blind
followers and both would fall into a ditch. In case you are wondering what that
ditch is, it is HELL FIRE forever and ever.
You certainly do not want to go there. Do NOT joke with your
salvation in Christ because sin would make you lose it and do not joke with
your soul because an eternity in HELL is the worst that can happen to anyone as
there is no hope whatsoever as God has warned in His Word.
May the good Lord bless you as you heed
His Word today, act on it and share with others in Jesus’ Most Holy Name, Amen.
Gabriel Ama.
