HOW TO GROW SPIRITUALLY AS A CHRISTIAN

2 Timothy 3:5 (AMPC)
For [although] they hold a form of piety (true religion), they deny and reject and are strangers to the power of it [their conduct belies the genuineness of their profession]. Avoid [all] such people [turn away from them].”

Dear people of God, any human being who professes Christianity but is living without a personal relationship with God and is not feeding daily on God’s Word in the Holy Bible is starving his or her soul, a very dangerous situation.

From my experience with many Christians in today’s world, this lack of a personal relationship with God and failure to focus and feed daily on God’s Word is the reason many are struggling with their spiritual life.

Though this problem is rampant with many Christians who are not committed Church workers, it is equally manifest amongst those who serve in Church as workers in one capacity or the other.

No doubt, God has called every one of His children to serve Him in the different areas or ministries or departments of the Church for the spiritual benefit of others and to the edification of His Holy Name so one cannot trivialize this aspect of Christianity.

Additionally however, you must discipline yourself to create a daily time schedule to study God’s Word, meditate on it, confess it, pray and do exactly what it says to recharge spiritually.

Fasting is also recommended at intervals (e.g. once or twice a week, first 3 days of a new month and as directed by your local church to also recharge spiritually).

One major mistake Christians and Christian workers make is they believe they can pray themselves into spiritual growth.

How wrong!!

During prayer, you are communicating with God so prayer is very important and is highly recommended but it is NOT the only activity you must engage in as a Christian.

You MUST add daily study and meditation of God’s Word because this is when God speaks to us, so just as Kenneth E. Hagin said while alive on earth, the Bible is God speaking to you.

When God speaks to you through His Word as you study, He also speaks through His Spirit as you meditate on His Word you have studied so how can you neglect such an important aspect of your Christianity and expect to grow spiritually?

Therefore, if as a Christian you say God has never spoken to you or hardly speaks to you, it is because you either do not realize He speaks to you through His Word in the Bible as you study or you don’t study your Bible and meditate on it daily as you should!

When God speaks to you and you diligently hearken to His Word by ALWAYS doing exactly what it says, how could you ever go wrong in life or take a wrong decision or live in fear?

That can never happen.

Every Christian who adds this very important aspect of daily study and meditation on God’s Word would discover the enormous amount of spiritual growth he or she would experience over time.

The result would surely show in your attitude and others around you would equally notice it.

Another result from this is that whenever you encounter any challenge, God would remind you of His Word through His Spirit and as you confess it, spiritual power is released to dispel the forces of darkness causing the challenge.

Most importantly, you would discover that living a life of Holiness, Truth and Righteousness in Christ is much easier because He guides you and so going out in Evangelism to tell others the Truth about the Gospel of Christ Jesus you have discovered becomes easier as well because of your genuine love of God and deep concern for perishing souls out there.

What is the lesson here?

God speaks to you through His Word in the Bible so you MUST begin a daily habit by creating a time schedule to study His Word and meditate on it and pray.

You must gather your family together daily during prayer time morning and evening to study and discuss God’s Word. You must reference God’s Word in every of your activity and allow God’s Spirit to guide you daily in the victory He has already given you as His child in Christ Jesus over life’s circumstances– Psalm 34:19.

Jesus Christ is coming shortly to take away only His qualified children in Rapture. Are you His child? Are you ready for Him?

Come to Jesus Christ today and now, for tomorrow or later may be too late for you.

May the good Lord bless you as you heed His Word today, act on it and share with others in Jesus’ Most Holy Name, Amen.
