THE ROAD TO HEAVEN (2)

Galatians 5:22-24 (AMPC)
“But the fruit of the [Holy] Spirit [the work which His presence within accomplishes] is love, joy (gladness), peace, patience (an even temper, forbearance), kindness, goodness (benevolence), faithfulness,
 
23 Gentleness (meekness, humility), self-control (self-restraint, continence). Against such things there is no law [that can bring a charge].
 
24 And those who belong to Christ Jesus (the Messiah) have crucified the flesh (the godless human nature) with its passions and appetites and desires.
 
Dear people of God, the Word of God tells us about the gifts of the Holy Spirit in 1 Corinthians 12:7-11 and they are summarized as follows:
 
·       the word of wisdom
·       the word of knowledge
·       faith
·       gifts of healings
·       the working of miracles
·       prophecy
·       discerning of spirits,
·       different kinds of tongues
·       the interpretation of tongues
 
These gifts are given by God’s Holy Spirit and distributed to each Christian as the Spirit of God wills (1 Corinthians 12:11) and not as the individual wills. This means you cannot acquire the gifts of your own volition, but the Spirit of God gives it to you for the work of the Gospel.
 
In today’s Christendom, many believe anyone who manifests any of these gifts of the Holy Spirit is a holy person who is qualified to enter heaven.
 
No, No and No!!!
 
Paul the Apostle writing by influence of the Holy Spirit states in Romans 11:29 (AMPC), “For God's gifts and His call are irrevocable. [He never withdraws them when once they are given, and He does not change His mind about those to whom He gives His grace or to whom He sends His call.]”
 
The Lord Jesus Christ makes it clear in Matthew 7:21-23 that not everyone who manifests the gifts of the Holy Spirit is qualified to enter heaven but only those who do the will of the Father.
 
What is the Father’s will? That we flee sin and pursue righteousness, godliness, the FRUITS of the Holy Spirit, and lay hold on to eternal life – 1 Timothy 6:11-12.
 
Today’s lead Holy Bible text above outlines the fruits of the Holy Spirit. These fruits of the Holy Spirit, which as we are told is a manifestation of God’s Spirit within His children, the Christians, is what qualifies you to enter heaven.
 
For emphasis sake, these fruits of the Spirit are love, joy (gladness), peace, patience (an even temper, forbearance), kindness, goodness (benevolence), faithfulness,
 
23 Gentleness (meekness, humility), self-control (self-restraint, continence).
 
Drawing from God’s Word above, you can see, dear friend, that a person can manifest the gifts and calling of God in ministry but still be comfortably leading a hypocritical life of sin.
 
For as we see in God’s Word, once God gives you these gifts of the Holy Spirit for the work of ministry, He never withdraws them because they are required for the work of ministry to prove to everyone that:
·       there is a God in Heaven,
·       He has a Son Jesus Christ our Saviour Who came to earth to suffer and die for the sins of all mankind and Who rose again on the third day to prove He is the Messiah
·       anyone who believes the Gospel, repents genuinely and calls on the Name of Jesus Christ would be saved.
·       There is the Holy Spirit Who is there to instruct, teach, influence and guide anyone who is saved or becomes born again having heard, believed and accepted God’s Word of Repentance and Salvation found only in Jesus Christ.
·       There is Christianity, the only way of life acceptable to God for all humans
·       There is a Holy Bible, God’s Divine manual that provides genuine information, instruction, guidance to anyone who wants to know the Truth about this world, how to successfully live in this world and what God Almighty expects of all humans.
 
We can also deduce that a person cannot truly manifest the fruits of the Holy Spirit in your life and still comfortably lead a godless life of sin.
 
Therefore, that you are a diligent church worker, sound preacher, evangelist, pastor, teacher, chorister, organist, prayer warrior, prophet, etc is not a guarantee that you are approved of God.
 
This distinction between the Gifts and Fruits of the Holy Spirit is necessary for anyone reading this to understand that God is Holy and would never alter His Word or change His mind concerning His standard of Truth, Holiness and Righteousness required for anyone who desires to enter heaven when he or she departs this world.
 
It is strictly your own decision concerning the choices you make in this life of your own free God-given will and there are consequences, temporal and eternal, for any wrong choices made.
 
Jesus’ coming for His children in the Rapture is imminent. Are you His child or are you born again? Are you ready for Him?
 
Come to Jesus Christ the Word of God today and now, for tomorrow or later may be too late for you.
 
May the good Lord bless you as you heed His Word today, act on it and share with others in Jesus’ Most Holy Name, Amen.
