POVERTY IS NOT AN EXCUSE TO BE DISHONEST
Proverbs 30:7-9 (AMPC)“Two
things have I asked of You [O Lord]; deny them not to me before I die: 8 Remove
far from me falsehood and lies; give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me
with the food that is needful for me, 9 Lest
I be full and deny You and say, Who is the Lord? Or lest I be poor and steal,
and so profane the Name of my God. Dear people of God, amongst several poor people are those who
are outright dishonest and who try to justify their action with their poverty
status. Such people tell lies, cheat their employers or business
partners, cheat their customers, steal even from their local church
congregation all in a bid to raise money for their daily needs. Unfortunately for such people, as far as God is concerned,
poverty is not an excuse to be dishonest in anyway. What God expects is for anyone who knows Him to call on Him in
prayer to show him or her what to do to get out of poverty. Take note that God is NOT the cause of poverty because His
thoughts, plans and will for His children is of not of evil but of good, to
bring them to an expected end – Jeremiah 29:11. Since God is NOT the cause of poverty, it follows that the devil
is the cause of poverty for all poor people and especially amongst genuine Christians
because the devil does not want Christians to have the resources to sponsor the
work of the Gospel for unsaved souls to come to experience the Salvation of
their souls found ONLY in Jesus Christ. The devil therefore raises his ministers to churn out falsehood
to deceive genuine Christians into enslaving themselves financially. One way
the devil does this is by preaching that tithing, offering and giving is not
important, which is contrary to God’s Word in Luke 6:38; Proverbs 19:17;
Malachi 3:8-12; Matthew 23:23; Luke 11:42. Since God cannot violate His Word, any genuine Christian who
does not obey God’s command to tithe or to give will not grow financially and
is operating under a Divine curse as stated in Malachi 3:9. Take note dear friend, that as a genuine Christian person, you
cannot become wealthy financially by prayer and fasting. You can only increase
financially by obeying God’s command to pay tithes, give offerings and
contributions for the work of the Gospel, and give to the needy as required. God’s unfailing promise is to give you more than enough
resources to meet your needs and to be a blessing to others as well for it is
more blessed to give than to receive as God’s Word states in Acts 20:35. The right way to pray for wealth as a Christian is to ask God to
show you where you are getting it wrong, to give you divinely approved ideas
and to connect you to the right people/groups for success in life. For the wealth to come and to increase and to remain, you must
appreciate God as your only Source by giving to His church for the work of the
Gospel and by helping the needy in society as God guides you to do so. There is no excuse to be dishonest whether you are rich or poor
because it is the blessing of the Lord that makes rich as increased toiling will
not make you richer – Proverbs 10:22. Jesus’ coming for His children in the Rapture is imminent. Are
you His child or are you born again? Are you ready for Him? Come to Jesus Christ the Word of God today and now, for tomorrow
or later may be too late for you. May the good Lord bless you as you heed
His Word today, act on it and share with others in Jesus’ Most Holy Name, Amen. Gabriel Ama.
