A TEST OF MARITAL FIDELITY

Hebrews 13:4 (AMPC)
“Let marriage be held in honor (esteemed worthy, precious, of great price, and especially dear) in all things. And thus let the marriage bed be undefiled (kept undishonored); for God will judge and punish the unchaste [all guilty of sexual vice] and adulterous.”
 
Dear people of God, I was once told a true story of a church program held years ago where the officiating minister while preaching on some reasons why prayers were not answered mentioned marital infidelity and violence against spouses.
 
The minister then posed two questions to the married men present.
 
He asked all married men who since they got married had never been intimate with another woman aside their God-given spouse to raise their hand up. Only 2 men raised their hands in the congregation of over 1,000 men.
 
The minister also asked those who had never physically hit their wives since they got married to raise their hands up. Again, it was just the same 2 men that raised their hands.
 
It is reported that some of the men were offended at the questions and some women also expressed disapproval of the officiating minister’s questions.
 
Dear friend, it is pertinent to note here that every legally married couple who stand in a Church to exchange marital vows commit to marital fidelity before God and before humans.
 
It is pertinent to note further that God respects covenants and heaven records every word we speak and even all the thoughts we think.
 
It is therefore a violation of marital vows and a grave offence against God Almighty and Father of my Saviour and Lord Jesus Christ for any married man to join himself in adultery with another woman to whom he is not legally married.
 
The same applies to every legally married woman who commits adultery.
 
It should be noted here that even outside a Church setting where a man and a woman come together to get married, God also respects their covenant of marriage and so God disapproves of infidelity on either the married man or married woman’s part.
 
The non-Christian married couple, however, need to become Christians and live according to all of God’s commandments in the Holy Bible before they can qualify to enter heaven.
 
It is only in marriage that God approves of intimacy between a man and a woman so any intimacy outside marriage is an abomination and as we are told in today’s lead Holy Bible text above, God will judge and punish the unchaste, that is, everyone guilty of sexual vice and adultery.
 
God’s law for marriage is one man, one woman as spouse, and not the evil we see people practising today hiding under religion, tradition and even science to go contrary to God’s Divine law.
 
We must also be reminded of the Words of the Lord Jesus Christ in Matthew 5:27-28 (NKJV), “You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ 28 But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.” 
 
Only God knows how many men and women today are guilty of this Divine law of God all because they refuse to study and meditate on God’s Word to become implanted to release the Divine power to cleanse them and save their souls.
 
Dear friend, are you guilty of adultery? Repent genuinely today, confess to God through Jesus Christ and confess to your spouse to forgive you before it is too late.
 
Are you married, widowed or single but still engaged in unchastity of any kind – fornication, pornography, masturbation, immoral speech, thoughts, music, literature, dressing, etc?
 
Repent genuinely today, confess your sins to God, flee sexual immorality (1 Corinthians 6:18) and abstain from every form of evil (1 Thessalonians 5:22) before it is too late for you.
 
Are you engaged in polygamy or polygyny (one man several women), sororal polygyny (one man, two or more blood sisters as wives), polyandry (one woman, several men), homosexuality, lesbianism, bestiality (a human and animal in sexual relationship), a man in an adulterous relationship with a divorced woman or a woman in an adulterous relationship with a divorced man whose spouse is still alive?
 
Repent before God of this abomination, end the ungodly relationship and regularize according to God’s Divine law by sending away the sin partner(s) before it is too late.
 
If you believe as a woman, it is too difficult for you to leave a married man to whom you are sinfully engaged in a union because of financial or other reasons, then know that you have made that man your god and that is idolatry, another grave sin against God Almighty.
 
Repent and leave the adulterous relationship immediately, ask God in prayer to help you and trust in Him to resolve it for you before it is too late.
 
Do not say nobody warned you.
 
Jesus’ coming for His children in the Rapture is imminent. Are you His child or are you born again? Are you ready for Him?
 
Come to Jesus Christ the Word of God today and now, for tomorrow or later may be too late for you.
 
May the good Lord bless you as you heed His Word today, act on it and share with others in Jesus’ Most Holy Name, Amen.
