JESUS TOOK OUR INFIRMITIES AND BORE OUR SICKNESSES AND DISEASES (2)

1 Peter 2:24 (AMPC)

“He (Jesus Christ) personally bore our sins in His [own] body on the tree [as on an altar and offered Himself on it], that we might die (cease to exist) to sin and live to righteousness. By His wounds you have been healed.”

 

Dear people of God, in the first part of this post on the same topic, we saw evidence from the Holy Bible (Matthew 8:17), that the Lord Jesus Christ took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses and diseases.

 

What this means is that a Christian should not bear what Jesus has already borne for us.

 

In today’s lead Holy Bible text above, we see a second evidence in 1 Peter 2:24. The very last verse says by His (Jesus’) wounds you HAVE BEEN healed.

 

It does not say you are going to be healed or you will be healed. The king James version says, by His stripes, ye WERE HEALED.

 

Dear friend, this means the Lord Jesus ALSO took away in His body every sickness and diseases that should come upon us when He died at the Cross of Calvary for our sins.

 

The question now is, why are Christians having sicknesses and diseases and even dying from them at such young age in some cases? The simple answer is that they are not aware of what the Lord Jesus did for them at Calvary. They don’t understand the meaning of the verse “YOU HAVE BEEN HEALED.”

 

This is why they speak carelessly about sicknesses and diseases. They own sicknesses and diseases with the negative confessions of their mouths that is derived from what is contained in their heart.

 

There are times I hear some Christians say, “I am well” when in reality they are sick physically. When you press them further concerning what is wrong with them, they open up and start lamenting about their condition.

 

What they said the first time, “I am strong” or “I am well” is right but they don’t mean it when they say it. The words are coming from their head and not from their hearts.

 

This is why they can start lamenting about their illness when pressed further, and so the illness festers and weakens them the more.

 

However, what they ought to do is to believe and confess God’s Word in Matthew 8:17 and 1 Peter 2:24 over their lives and mean it. They must continue to believe and confess it until those Words of Scripture become a living organism in them to root out all sickness and all disease by whatsoever name.

 

Am I saying they should not tell anyone about illness or they should not go to hospital? No, I have not said that. What I have said is that even though their physical condition shows illness and weakness, they should understand, recognize, believe, accept and confess what the Lord Jesus did for us at the Cross of Calvary and hold on to that confession until it becomes a reality in their lives; until the sickness and diseases completely disappears from their bodies.

 

I tell you, dear friend, no sickness or disease can stay in your body when you understand and practise this habit I am recommending according to God’s Word above.

 

It does not matter whether it is a stage 4 or terminal cancer, Ebola, Multiple Sclerosis, HIV/AIDS, Leukaemia, Fibroid, Asthma, Diabetes, Heart disease, whatever. All sicknesses and diseases must give way when you exercise your God-given rights in Christ over them by rebuking them and commanding them to go in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

 

Let me reiterate here as usual, that this benefit is available ONLY to Christians, that is, anyone who has deliberately known and recognized a need to allow Jesus Christ to take over Lordship of his or her life.

 

The person then drops all sinful habits, confesses to God, forsakes the sinful habits, believes and accepts that Jesus Christ the Son of God came to die for the sins of mankind and then begins immediately to obey all Jesus’ commands in the Holy Bible WITHOUT COMPROMISE.

 

So if you are not yet a Christian, this is an opportunity for you. I urge you to accept, dear friend, because you will not only enjoy the many benefits of being a Christian but you will leave this world with the full assurance of entering eternal life in heaven.

 

There is no other way to attain this except through Christ Jesus our Lord.

 

May the good Lord bless you as you heed His Word today, act on it and share with others in Jesus’ Most Powerful Name, Amen.
