THE BELIEVER’S POSITION IN CHRIST

Ephesians 2:6 (AMPC)  

“6 And He (God) raised us up together with Him (Jesus Christ) and made us sit down together [giving us joint seating with Him] in the heavenly sphere [by virtue of our being] in Christ Jesus (the Messiah, the Anointed One).”

 

Dear people of God, today’s lead Holy Bible texts tells Believers, Christians, that God has raised us up together with our Lord Jesus Christ and given us a joint- sitting position with Christ in the heavenly realm by virtue of our being in Christ Jesus our Messiah.

 

For us to appreciate the enormous value of this position, we need to look at another Holy Bible verse in Ephesians 1:20-21, “Which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His [own] right hand in the heavenly [places],

 

21 Far above all rule and authority and power and dominion and every name that is named [above every title that can be conferred], not only in this age and in this world, but also in the age and the world which are to come.

 

This second Scripture verses tell us that the Lord Jesus Christ is seated in heaven far above all rule, authority, power, dominion and every name in this age and in this world and the world to come.

 

Since the lead Scripture for today tells us that we are also seated jointly with Christ in the heavenly realm, it means we are also seated far above all rule, authority, power, dominion and every name in this age and in this world.

 

This simply means we are seated jointly with the Lord Jesus Christ far above satanic influences in this age and in this world. This means satan, demons and their human agents cannot harm us in this world by virtue of our position in Christ.

 

Unfortunately, not many Christians are aware of this reality in God’s Word and so they pass through life faced with so many challenges caused by satan and agents of darkness and they wonder why God does not respond to help them.

 

I tell you, dear friend, your ignorance of your right and position in Christ as stated very clearly in God’s Word is your own undoing.

 

The problem of Christians today is not a seeming unwillingness of God to help them. It is just a grave ignorance of God’s Word and how it relates to Christians.

 

God has given us His Word in the Holy Bible as a Guide but we fail to study it to know what is ours in Christ and then ignorant folks turn round to blame God for abandoning them.

 

This is especially true for my brethren in Africa of whom it is said that “to hide something from an African, just put it in writing” – he will not bother reading it.

 

A popular Bishop of Nigerian origin is quoted as saying, “God is not moved by your TEARS but God is moved by His WORD. I agree a 100% with this statement.

 

God has told us that we shall not live by bread alone but by every WORD He (God) has spoken – Matthew 4:4. When you fail to know what Word God has spoken, you will be living a life of chance.

 

God has said in Isaiah 55:10-11, “ For as the rain and snow come down from the heavens, and return not there again, but water the earth and make it bring forth and sprout, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater, [II Cor. 9:10.]

 

11 So shall My Word be that goes forth out of My mouth: it shall not return to Me void [without producing any effect, useless], but it shall accomplish that which I please and purpose, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

 

You can see for yourself why you cannot afford to joke with God’s Word if you are a Believer or a Christian.

 

You can also see why you cannot blame anyone but yourself where you fail to study God’s Word to know your rights and position in Christ and how to appropriate or exercise it.

 

Where you fail to exercise your rights in Christ, just be sure that satan and demons will afflict you not because God is unwilling to help but because YOU are ignorant of your position in Christ and how to claim it and make it work for you.

 

Let me repeat what the Nigerian Bishop said, “GOD IS NOT MOVED BY YOUR TEARS (SITUATIONS, PROBLEMS, CHALLENGES) BUT GOD IS MOVED BY HIS WORD.

 

When you want to make God respond to you in prayer, just tell Him what His Word says, believe what His Word says, thank and worship Him for what His Word says concerning you as His child and you can be sure that God will respond to do for you EXACTLY as His Word says and as YOUR faith in God’s Word demonstrates.

 

Dear friend, now that you know this Truth, would you still remain in refusal to study God’s Word and continue blaming your misfortunes on God or your parents, uncles, aunts, siblings, employer, country’s president, politicians, etc?

 

God loves you, which is why He has given you His Word to study to know what is yours as His child. However, what is yours as contained in God’s Word can only work for whoever becomes God’s child.

 

You are not God’s child because He created you. You become God’s child in this world when you sincerely repent of sins, confess your sins to God, forsake sins, accept Jesus Christ into your life as your Saviour and Messiah, study God’s Word in the Holy Bible and then commit genuinely to live in strict obedience to God’s commands in the Holy Bible.

 

I invite you to take this journey to FREEDOM found only in Christ and no one else. The choice is yours today and now, dear friend, for tomorrow or later may be too late for you.

 

May the good Lord bless and prosper you as you obey His Word today, act on it and share with others in Jesus’ Most Merciful Name, Amen.

HOW DO YOU CONTROL VIOLENCE IN PEOPLE?

Hebrews 12:14 (AMPC)  “ Strive to live in peace with everybody and pursue that consecration  and holiness without which no one will [ever] see the Lord.”   Dear people of God, I read sometime in December 2019 ago of a police inspector in Nigeria who shot and killed his colleague, a corporal, and the same shot injured another colleague, a deputy Superintendent of police after which the police inspector took his own life.   What could have led to such violence?   I also read of another unfortunate story of a lady killed December 25, 2019, Christmas Day, by her husband who had beaten her to a coma and then ran away after discovering what he had done. GOD CANNOT VIOLATE HIS WORD

  Psalm 89:34  “My covenant I will not violate, nor will I alter the utterance of My lips.” Dear people of God, today’s lead Bible text in Psalm 89:34 is a profound statement by God Almighty and Father of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
