A REASON TO GIVE

 Proverbs 11:30 (KJV)

“The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.”

 

Dear friends, about 4 years ago, I read a report of a Christian project where donations were being solicited to aid translation of the New Testament and the Bible Book of Genesis into a local language to enable God’s Word reach about 800,000 people in Northwest Africa.

 

Do you think this was a laudable project worth contributing to? I want to believe every worthwhile Christian would say yes to this question.


It is to such projects that tithes and donations are contributed. It is to such schemes that every professing Christian should demonstrate love to the Lord Jesus Christ by your giving.

 

When the project is completed, the people who study God’s Word would come to know the Truth about Repentance and Salvation found only in the Lord Jesus Christ and they would willingly accept Jesus Christ into their lives as Messiah.

 

For you the giver, a star is added to your crown that awaits you in Heaven when you die in Christ as His child.

 

The resources God has given you is not just to meet your needs but to meet the spiritual and material needs of the less privileged.

 

No doubt there are some ignorant folks out there who would naturally agree with what I have just stated here in the preceding paragraph and would quickly post this message to those they want to help them.

 

God wants every one of us to realize that He is the One Who gives us the power to create wealth – Deuteronomy 8:18.

 

When you go about begging your fellow humans for what God can give you, then you are not acting in line with God’s Word. If anything, you are insulting God, particularly for those who tell lies that they were led by God to beg their fellow humans for financial help.

 

Correct me if I am wrong but I have not seen one Scripture where God sent someone to beg another for financial help. What I know is that God as the owner of all the Universe’s resources would always command someone to help His child who is in dire need.

 

This is consistent with God’s Word where it is written in Psalm 37:25-26, “I have been young and now am old, yet have I not seen the [UNCOMPROMISINGLY] righteous forsaken or their seed begging bread.

 

26 All day long they are merciful and deal graciously; they lend, and their offspring are blessed.”

 

God always provides for the needs of the UNCOMPROMISINGLY RIGHTEOUS AND HIS OFFSPRING.

 

It is necessary to make this clarification so that those who have ulterior motives with this post would take their time to study God’s Word in the Holy Bible, obey it by righteous conduct and receive the blessing that only God can give them.

 

Coming back to today’s topic, dear friend, I urge you to ALWAYS give to Christian projects that promote the Gospel.

 

Give your time, your financial resources, your skills because it is God Who is glorified in all of these and it is the same God Who has given every one of us every good gift and every perfect gift – James 1:17.

 

These gifts are to be used in God’s service and to honour Him.

 

May the good Lord bless you as you heed His Word today, act on it and share with others in Jesus’ Mighty Name, Amen.

HOW DO YOU CONTROL VIOLENCE IN PEOPLE?

Hebrews 12:14 (AMPC)  “ Strive to live in peace with everybody and pursue that consecration  and holiness without which no one will [ever] see the Lord.”   Dear people of God, I read sometime in December 2019 ago of a police inspector in Nigeria who shot and killed his colleague, a corporal, and the same shot injured another colleague, a deputy Superintendent of police after which the police inspector took his own life.   What could have led to such violence?   I also read of another unfortunate story of a lady killed December 25, 2019, Christmas Day, by her husband who had beaten her to a coma and then ran away after discovering what he had done. GOD CANNOT VIOLATE HIS WORD

  Psalm 89:34  “My covenant I will not violate, nor will I alter the utterance of My lips.” Dear people of God, today’s lead Bible text in Psalm 89:34 is a profound statement by God Almighty and Father of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. What this statement from God means is that there is nothing He has said in His Word that He will fail to perform.
