FALLING IN LOVE WITH JESUS CHRIST THE WORD OF GOD

John 14:15-17 (AMPC)


“ If you [really] love Me, you will keep (obey) My commands.

 

16 And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever–

 

17 The Spirit of Truth, Whom the world cannot receive (welcome, take to its heart), because it does not see Him or know and recognize Him. But you know and recognize Him, for He lives with you [constantly] and will be in you.”

 

Dear people of God, there was a time in my life when I simply was unable to read one chapter of the Holy Bible. It was of very little interest to me.

 

Worse still, I only was able to read some Psalms and some verses of the New Testament. Whenever I wanted to read some passages of the Old Testament, it was a struggle for me.

 

To God be all the glory as all that has changed for me now because of a simple prayer I made to God sometime in 2017 when I asked Him to make me fall in love with His Word.

 

Thereafter, a friend told me how in the past she had prayed concerning who she should give Christian books to and the Holy Spirit put my name in her heart. However, she had tried unsuccessfully to give me Christian books written by the late Kenneth E. Hagin with messages that were truly inspired by God.

 

My reason for rejecting the books was because I did not want to be a financial burden to her and so I refused to accept the books. However, because the Holy Spirit led her, she kept persuading me until one day I accepted just one of the books and paid for the other ones.

 

Dear friend, since then, I have been ordering and paying for books through my friend. It was those books God used to open my eyes of understanding to the power in His Word in the Holy Bible.

 

When you speak God’s written Word over any situation, there must be a positive result as stated in God’s Word.

 

As a result of this life transforming event, God has not only answered my prayers to fall in love with His Word, He has and continues to show me great and mighty things in His Word that I had never known about or taken seriously and unfortunately, you don’t get to hear such being taught in the Church these days.

 

I am really amazed at the level of ignorance in Churches today concerning God’s Word because anyone who has the kind of understanding God in His mercy has given me concerning His Word would live a stress free life without fear of anything or anyone.

 

Oh, how I love the Lord Jesus Christ for what He has done for me! How I pray that as He has done for me, the Lord Jesus would open the eyes of all Christians to see and understand the enormity of power in God’s Word in the Holy Bible.

 

This would make Christians take charge of their lives in this world to experience heaven on earth and then demonstrate it to non-Christians through holy living as God Almighty expects us to live.

 

Dear friend, as a Christian, just do yourself a favour – the same way you seek and eat physical food 3 times daily (for those who can afford it), pray to God to give you a love for His Word and then study and meditate on God’s Word in the Holy Bible daily.

 

The Holy Bible is spiritual food for the soul just as physical food is for the body. You would only be cheating yourself and no one else when you fail to study God’s Word daily.

 

The world would be a better place if all Christians could study, meditate, believe and practice what the Word of God contains and commands us to do.

 

You would never get tired of discussing it and sharing with others and God would certainly do as stated in Mark 16:20, “And they went out and preached everywhere, while the Lord kept working with them and confirming the message by the attesting signs and miracles that closely accompanied [it]. Amen (so be it).”

 

In this way, Evangelism would not be a task Christians struggle with and shy away from but rather, an activity they look forward to regularly because they know the Truth of God’s Word and God would respond to confirm it as they preach to draw lost souls to Jesus Christ.

 

May the good Lord bless you as you heed His Word this day, act on it and share with others in Jesus’ Mighty Name, Amen.
