SEEK FIRST GOD’S KINGDOM AND HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS
Matthew 6:31-33 (AMPC)
“Therefore do not worry and be anxious, saying, what are we going to have to eat? or, what are we going to have to drink? or, what are we going to have to wear?
32 For the Gentiles (heathen) wish for and crave and diligently seek all these things, and your heavenly Father knows well that you need them all.
33 But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides.”
Dear people of God, we thank God Almighty and Father of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ for letting us see the end of November 2023 and a new month December 2023, the last of the year. We thank God for January to November 2023.
Now, the world’s system says every human has 3 basic needs, which are food, shelter and clothing.
As a result, humans strive hard to meet and satisfy these needs.
But God’s infallible Word in the Holy Bible text above says humans should not worry or be anxious over these things. God says it is unbelievers who do not know Him, God Almighty, that bother themselves over these things.
God’s Word further tells us how to EFFORTLESSLY attain these things humans bother about, and it says we should seek first, God’s kingdom and God’s righteousness and when we have done that, the things humans bother about as their need, God would give to us.
It is a very simple directive. The question is, why do most humans refuse to heed this simple directive? A second question is, why do Christians also fail to heed this directive? Why do they worry over the very things God says we should not worry about?
Why do Christians refuse to seek first God’s kingdom and also God’s righteousness so that the blessings can follow as God has promised?
Many Christians seek God’s kingdom the wrong way and as a result, the blessings do not flow. Now because of failure to see the blessings flow caused not by God but by themselves, the Christians then fail to seek God’s righteousness and therefore compromise in their relationship with God and other humans.
As a result, the blessings God has promised automatically fails to flow because a violation of condition precedent to receiving the blessing has taken place on the part of the Christian.
God is always faithful to His Word. As many as are able to seek FIRST His kingdom and His righteousness would EFFORTLESSLY receive the accompanying blessings.
Dear friend, you need to understand this simple instruction or commandment from God and obey it, and then your blessings would flow because God has decreed it that way.
Over the next few posts on this same topic, we would look at how to seek God’s kingdom and God’s righteousness as a condition precedent to receiving God’s blessings as God Himself has decreed.
