SEEK FIRST GOD’S KINGDOM AND HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS (4)

Matthew 6:31-33 (AMPC)

“Therefore do not worry and be anxious, saying, what are we going to have to eat? or, what are we going to have to drink? or, what are we going to have to wear?

 

32 For the Gentiles (heathen) wish for and crave and diligently seek all these things, and your heavenly Father knows well that you need them all.

 

33 But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides.”

 

Dear people of God, today we are looking at part 4 of this message and considering another condition precedent as seeking FIRST the kingdom of God and His righteousness in order to receive His blessings.

 

We are looking today at the law of Love.


The Word of God tells us in 1 John 4:20-21, “If anyone says, I love God, and hates (detests, abominates) his brother [in Christ], he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, Whom he has not seen.

 

21 And this command (charge, order, injunction) we have from Him: that he who loves God shall love his brother [believer] also.”

 

Clearly, we see here that nobody has any reason whatsoever to hate another human being created by God. Yes, we can get angry and speak out our minds (not in abusive or foul language) but we must NEVER hate anyone because God commands that we should love.

 

When you hate, you are violating God’s commandments and are therefore not seeking FIRST God’s kingdom and His righteousness.

 

The person who hates others has opened a door and given satan a legal right to enter his or her life and cause havoc or even kill you outright to an eternal damnation in HELL. Hatred would breed a desire for revenge, unforgiveness and malice.

 

All these vices would block whatever blessings God has released for the person.

 

Dear friend, are you angry at anyone for whatever reason? God says today that you should forgive and let it go. Remember that God first forgave you unconditionally when you were living in sin by the Lord Jesus’ sacrificial death at Calvary for all mankind and He commands you to forgive others and show love to them.

 

Yes, I know it is not an easy task; yes, I know I am not in your shoes to know what the person did, but I will remind you that your hatred of that individual does not cause problem for the person but for yourself.

 

Hatred would breed sickness in you and also hinder whatever prayers you make to God, so it is unnecessary to hate but we must love and love UNCONDITIONALLY and not immorally.

 

Do you want access to God’s eternal blessings? Then show genuine love to people from today and discard hatred. Then all shall be well with you and all your endeavours as God has promised.

 

May the good Lord bless you as you heed His Word today, act on it and share with others in Jesus’ Most Holy Name, Amen.

HOW DO YOU CONTROL VIOLENCE IN PEOPLE?

Hebrews 12:14 (AMPC)  “ Strive to live in peace with everybody and pursue that consecration  and holiness without which no one will [ever] see the Lord.”   Dear people of God, I read sometime in December 2019 ago of a police inspector in Nigeria who shot and killed his colleague, a corporal, and the same shot injured another colleague, a deputy Superintendent of police after which the police inspector took his own life.   What could have led to such violence?   I also read of another unfortunate story of a lady killed December 25, 2019, Christmas Day, by her husband who had beaten her to a coma and then ran away after discovering what he had done. GOD CANNOT VIOLATE HIS WORD

  Psalm 89:34  “My covenant I will not violate, nor will I alter the utterance of My lips.” Dear people of God, today’s lead Bible text in Psalm 89:34 is a profound statement by God Almighty and Father of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. What this statement from God means is that there is nothing He has said in His Word that He will fail to perform.
