SEEK FIRST GOD’S KINGDOM AND HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS (6)
Matthew 6:31-33 (AMPC)
“Therefore do not worry and be anxious, saying, What are we going to have to eat? or, What are we going to have to drink? or, What are we going to have to wear?
32 For the Gentiles (heathen) wish for and crave and diligently seek all these things, and your heavenly Father knows well that you need them all.
33 But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides.”
Dear people of God, in part 5 of this series, we considered how confession, that is the speaking of words from our lips affects the direction of our lives. We also looked at how words spoken by others affect us and why we must never speak negative words or accept negative words spoken against us by anyone.
This is the law of confession and it is a requirement of seeking FIRST God’s kingdom and His righteousness in order for us to reap the unimaginable blessings that would follow us as a consequence.
Today, we will be looking at the Law of Faith.
What is Faith? The Holy Bible defines faith in Hebrews 11:1 (AMPC), “NOW FAITH is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses].”
Simply put, faith means to believe before seeing. Some people say seeing is believing. Faith says believing is seeing.
As a child of God, you must believe all that God says in His Word in the Holy Bible even when situations around you are saying contrary.
When you have believed all God has said in His Word, that Word becomes Spirit and Life inside your spirit and your own words would always reflect what God has said and it would always come to pass in your life.
This would happen because as the Lord Jesus has said in Mark 11:23-24, “Truly I tell you, whoever says to this mountain, Be lifted up and thrown into the sea! and does not doubt at all in his heart but believes that what he says will take place, it will be done for him.
24 For this reason I am telling you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe (trust and be confident) that it is granted to you, and you will [get it].”
Now, the problem with some Christians is that they don’t understand how to have faith and so they speak the problems that has occupied and compounded their minds and this automatically becomes their reality in life.
So how does one have faith? This is clear from Romans 10:17 (NKJV), “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.”
The Word of God says faith comes by hearing the Word of God. The implication for the believer in Christ here is that he must make diligent, constant and daily study of God’s Word in the Holy Bible just as he takes a daily meal for his body.
The daily study of God’s Word nourishes the soul (mind, will and emotion), builds up faith in the individual and as the individual speaks words of faith into his life from what is recorded this MUST SURELY come to pass in his life.
This, again is why you must never accept any word or thought that is contrary to God’s Word.
For instance, when God’s Word says in Matthew 8:17 that the Lord Jesus Christ has taken your infirmities and borne your sicknesses and diseases, and that by His stripes, you WERE healed (1 Peter 2:24), why would you ever accept a doctor’s report that you are sick of whatever disease?
God’s Word is forever settled in heaven (Psalm 119:89) and so it is God’s Word or God’s report that you must ALWAYS accept concerning your life. Again, you can only achieve it through constant study and meditation of God’s Word in the Holy Bible.
When you have reached this level of understanding, faith builds up your spirit and connects you with Heaven to obtain all your God-given resources you ever need in life to succeed.
As it is written in Ephesians 1:3 (NKJV), “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,”
God has blessed us, Christians, with EVERY SPIRITUAL BLESSING in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.
Do you believe this? As for me and my family, we believe every Word of God.
May the good Lord bless you as you heed His Word today, act on it and share with others in Jesus’ Most Powerful Name, Amen.
Gabriel Ama.
