SEEK FIRST GOD’S KINGDOM AND HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS (7)

Matthew 6:31-33 (AMPC)

“Therefore do not worry and be anxious, saying, what are we going to have to eat? or, what are we going to have to drink? or, what are we going to have to wear?

32 For the Gentiles (heathen) wish for and crave and diligently seek all these things, and your heavenly Father knows well that you need them all.

33 But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides.”

Dear people of God, in the last couple of weeks, we have considered the various conditions precedent as a requirement for seeking FIRST God’s Kingdom and His Righteousness in order to obtain God’s blessings as He has promised.

Today, we will look at the Law of Trust.

So what is Trust? One online dictionary definition of Trust says “to believe that someone is good and honest and will not harm you, or that something is safe and reliable.”

This definition of Trust suits our purpose for today’s topic. In the Law of Trust as a condition for seeking FIRST God’s kingdom and His righteousness, you are saying you believe that God is good and honest and will not harm you.

You are saying to move with God is safe and God is reliable.

God cannot tell a lie as we are told in His Word in Numbers 23:19. The Bible also tells us in Proverbs 30:5, Every Word of God is tried and purified; He is a shield to those who trust and take refuge in Him.”

The entire Bible is God’s Word and so it is tried and purified. God is a shield to those who trust and take refuge in Him.

When you trust in God, what it means is that you do not consider any other option as far as God’s Word is concerned because God would never mislead you.

Remember also that God is our Creator, Father, Master, Provider, Healer, Protector, Counselor, Saviour and Redeemer and He loves us with an everlasting love.

How can such a loving Father ever think of hurting His children? No, He would never do that. Instead, it is us humans who hurt God through sin and evil lifestyle. We tell lies, murder, fornicate, cheat others, backbite, and break God’s commandments with impunity and we expect the same God to continue to bless you even in sin.

Now, because God is principled and never alters His Word, only those who trust in God as shown by their actions of righteous living are sure to receive His already released blessings into their lives.

Yes, God’s blessings have already been released when the Lord Jesus Christ died on the Cross of Calvary for the sins of mankind, reconciled mankind to God and said “it is Finished.”

So, it is obedience to God’s commands that places His blessings into our lives and when you say you trust God, then you should never doubt His Word.

How would you know the Word God has spoken? It is by study of the Holy Bible and from then to meditation on God’s Word until it sinks into our spirit and finally by our words and action that align with God’s Word to release His blessings into our lives.

Do you trust God, dear friend? It is in your own interest that you do because God can NEVER fail you.

As His Word has stated clearly in Proverbs 3:5-8, Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding.

6 In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths.

7 Be not wise in your own eyes; reverently fear and worship the Lord and turn [entirely] away from evil. [Prov. 8:13.]

8 It shall be health to your nerves and sinews, and marrow and moistening to your bones.”

May the good Lord bless you as you heed His Word today, act on it and share with others in Jesus’ Most Trustworthy Name, Amen.

Gabriel Ama.
