WHY THE POOR REMAINS IN THE LAND
Deuteronomy 15:4-5 (AMPC)
“But there will be no poor among you, for the Lord will surely bless you in the land which the Lord your God gives you for an inheritance to possess,
5 If only you carefully listen to the voice of the Lord your God, to do watchfully all these commandments which I command you this day.
Dear people of God, there are very many people who believe it is their hard work that can make them rich.
However, the Holy Bible, the infallible Word of God says it is the Lord that gives people the power to create wealth – Deuteronomy 8:18.
We are also told that it is the blessing of the Lord that makes rich and hard work would not make you any richer – Proverbs 10:22
However, this covenant from God is for His children. Who are God’s children? The Christians, the followers of the Lord Jesus Christ in word and deed.
Are other people not God’s children? No, they are not even though they are created by God. The right to become God’s child is given ONLY to those who have accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as their Saviour, Lord and Master – John 1:12.
Now, God says above in today’s lead Holy Bible text that there would be no poor amongst His people. So why do we have poor people amongst Christians?
Verse 5 of Deuteronomy 15 gives the reason by inference, which is disobedience to God’s commandments.
One may ask, how does one disobey God’s commands? It is by violating any one of God’s commands in the Holy Bible.
The Bible says all unrighteousness or wrongdoing is sin – 1 John 5:17a (AMPC).
When you fail to study God’s Word and meditate therein, you miss vital points on how to relate with God satisfactorily.
When you therefore violate God’s Word whether knowingly or inadvertently, you have given a legal right to satan, the cause of poverty, to enter into your life and as a Christian, satan would surely come in to afflict you, discourage you and make you doubt God’s promise to bless His children.
The problem therefore lies with people and not with God Who has made it clear that there shall be no poor among His children if only they would watchfully and diligently obey all His commandments.
Dear friend, we must make a habit of praying to God to order or establish our steps in accordance with His Word and that no iniquity or sin should have dominion over us as His Word states in Psalm 119:133.
This way we can be sure of staying in connection with Almighty God and Father of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and receiving every covenant blessing God has decreed into our lives.
If you are a Christian and are still struggling financially, you need to go back to God and His Word for the solution. It is only there you can find the solution and nowhere else.
Do not allow satan to deceive you directly or indirectly through others into believing something is wrong with wealth for a Christian.
Also, do not allow anyone used by satan to deceive you into joining any occultic group with the false promise of wealth and protection. That would be spiritually suicidal and would end in eternal damnation for you unless you repent sincerely and return to the Lord Jesus Christ in truth and in spirit.
Always remember that it is God that blesses and He adds no sorrow to it.
