IS IT FAITH OR ARE YOU TELLING A LIE?
Mark 11:23-24 (AMPC)
24 For this reason I am telling you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe (trust and be confident) that it is granted to you, and you will [get it].”
Dear people of God, today’s topic is meant to show Christians why they fail to achieve a number of things they have prayed for.
If I say for instance that I see myself as the President of my country very shortly, one of the first reactions I would get from friends, Christians inclusive, is that I should stop dreaming and face reality.
Once this reaction comment is made, the natural thing for most people is to give up their ambition and as a result, they are unable to move forward in life.
But I tell you to look again at the Lord Jesus’ statement in today’s lead Holy Bible text. Jesus says WHOEVER and this means any person, whether male or female.
Jesus says when the person makes a statement and believes what he says would take place, it would be done for him.
Now, even with this statement of the Truth of God’s Word by the Lord Jesus Christ Himself on how faith works, many honest Christians believe someone is lying when the person makes a statement of faith.
As at the time God Almighty and Father of my Saviour and Lord Jesus Christ told Abram He would make him a father of nations, Abram did not have any child – Genesis 12:1-4.
Later on when God repeated His promise to Abram to make him a father of nations, Abram behaved like many who want to first see before they believe. He reminded God that he was childless and that his servant Eliezer of Damascus was his heir to inherit his wealth.
However, God insisted that a child from Abram’s bosom would become his heir to fulfil God’s promise to him. Abram believed God even though it had not yet happened physically and the Bible says Abram’s faith was counted for him by God as righteousness – Genesis 15:1-6.
The problem with many Christians is that they believe it is by their own effort they would achieve things for themselves even when God has said He is the One Who gives us the power to create wealth (Deuteronomy 8:18).
God also says He is the One Whose blessings make us rich without sorrow and that hard work would not make us any richer – Proverbs 10:22. All God expects is for us to have faith in His ability and capacity to bless us as He has told us in His Word.
Dear friend, displaying faith with our words does not mean we should tell lies or deceive people by our actions or defraud them. That is sin and not faith.
Faith means calling those things concerning our lives personally that are yet to be as though they already were – Romans 4:17.
When you understand this simple principle of faith, then you would begin to imagine all that you want in this life, believe it in your heart/mind and call it into existence using your own mouth until it manifests physically.
You would also understand that when you speak negative words concerning yourself, it is because you have believed negative things and as long as you do that, negative things would manifest physically in your life.
I must tell you at this point that the best words to believe and to speak out concerning yourself are those stated in the infallible Word of God in the Holy Bible.
When the Lord Jesus Christ gave His life for our sins on the Cross of Calvary, so many blessings the devil had stolen were automatically restored by God back to everyone and anyone who believes and accepts the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
Those promises and covenants are in the Holy Bible. You must search them out through prayer, study and meditation on the Word of God in the Holy Bible. You must believe them and you must speak them always, daily, until they manifest physically in your life.
Do not bother about what mockers, ignorant Christians inclusive say whenever you speak those words of faith. They are your right in Christ and nobody can stop you from receiving them as long as you believe.
God has already released them. You must thank God always for this and continue to live in righteous obedience to God’s commands, and claim your rights in Christ Jesus so you can always live a victorious life here on earth and then enter eternal life in heaven with Jesus Christ our Lord.
