“All has been heard; the end of the matter is: Fear God [revere and worship Him, knowing that He is] and keep His commandments, for this is the whole of man [the full, original purpose of his creation, the object of God's providence, the root of character, the foundation of all happiness, the adjustment to all inharmonious circumstances and conditions under the sun] and the whole [duty] for every man.
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it is good or evil. [Matt. 12:36; Acts 17:30, 31; Rom. 2:16; 1 Cor. 4:5.]”
Dear people of God, at times, we have some ignorant Christians who speak of the superiority of their church denomination over others.
There are also some pastors with dishonourable motives who set up a church denomination not with intention to preach the true gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ but with intention to defraud the congregation spiritually and financially.
Such preachers were not called by God but they called themselves by attending a short course in Bible college and then began a church without God’s grace involved.
Let us see what the Lord Jesus Christ says about such preachers in Matthew 15:6-9, “So for the sake of your tradition (the rules handed down by your forefathers), you have set aside the Word of God [depriving it of force and authority and making it of no effect].
7 You pretenders (hypocrites)! Admirably and truly did Isaiah prophesy of you when he said:
8 These people draw near Me with their mouths and honour Me with their lips, but their hearts hold off and are far away from Me.
9 Uselessly do they worship Me, for they teach as doctrines the commands of men. [Isa. 29:13.]”
Today’s lead Holy Bible text tells us what God expects of every human being. In these last days, the Lord expects every human being to become a Christian, a believer and follower of the Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity and not in hypocrisy as we find in many Church denominations today.
It is dangerous to find yourself as a member of any church where the main theme of teaching for every church meeting is not about heaven, hell, repentance from sin, salvation, the second imminent coming of the Lord Jesus Christ, evangelism to win lost souls back to Christ, living a righteous and holy life in obedience to God’s commands in the Holy Bible, eternity, etc.
If the church meeting focuses ONLY on prosperity and messages that make you feel good EVERY SINGLE TIME without giving thought about where your spirit would spend eternity after this life, then my friend, you are certainly in the wrong church congregation.
Heaven will not ask you which church you attended because all churches are expected to preach the Truth of God’s Word as I have summarized above.
What heaven would ask you is about your personal relationship with God, relationship with other humans and your righteous obedience to all of God’s commandments in the Holy Bible.
Dear friend, pray for God to open your eyes of spiritual understanding to His Word and to also open the eyes of your pastors/General overseers, etc so that you would not be misled along with others in your church denomination by teachings of man and not God’s commands.
Take personal responsibility for your own eternity by seeking to know the Truth for yourself and this begins with a genuine desire to know God and His ways. Pray to God to help you know Him more and more and to give you a genuine love for His Word and commandments.
God would respond to help you because that prayer is according to His will.
Finally, remember that it is not what your pastor says that is the Truth if what he says violates God’s commandments. God always has the final say in everything as far as this life is concerned.
