ANCHOR YOUR ENTIRE LIFE ON GOD’S WORD

 Psalm 119:133-134 (AMPC) 
“Establish my steps and direct them by [means of] Your Word; let not any iniquity have dominion over me.
 
134 Deliver me from the oppression of man; so will I keep Your precepts [hearing, receiving, loving, and obeying them].” [Luke 1:74.]
 
Dear people of God, it is simply not possible to live a successful life in this world outside of God’s Word in the Holy Bible.
 
Someone may claim at this point that there are many non-Christians who are doing well in life. The phrase “doing well” is relative because what determines who is doing well is the individual having the personal experience and not the casual or intentional observer.
 
God’s Word tells us in Galatians 5:22-24, “But the fruit of the [Holy] Spirit [the work which His presence within accomplishes] is love, joy (gladness), peace, patience (an even temper, forbearance), kindness, goodness (benevolence), faithfulness,
 
23 Gentleness (meekness, humility), self-control (self-restraint, continence). Against such things there is no law [that can bring a charge].
 
24 And those who belong to Christ Jesus (the Messiah) have crucified the flesh (the godless human nature) with its passions and appetites and desires.”
 
Now, examine your mind carefully and ask yourself sincerely if you know any non-Christian whose life shows all or most of these attributes above? The answer is no because true happiness resides only in Christ Jesus and His Word that is infused with His Spirit.
 
Sin creates a terrible damage to one’s life and causes untold pain and uncertainty constantly.
 
A Christian would readily forgive because he understands that unforgiveness would not only hurt him spiritually but also hinder his prayers. A Christian would NOT steal, fornicate, take alcohol, get drunk, break the law wilfully, take narcotics, backbite, hate, discriminate, divorce, tell lies, defraud, fight, or even murder through abortion.
 
No, he would do no such things because his life is anchored in God’s Word.
 
The Word of God is active and alive. It contains life transforming power when it connects with the re-born Christian spirit as the Christian studies and meditates daily on God’s Word.
 
The rooted Word of God is the only resource that contains the power to save a human’s soul (mind, will and emotion) from sin and the corruption of this world – James 1:21.
 
As for the Christian who knows His God-given rights as stated in God’s Word, he will always overcome all demonic influences causing sickness, poverty and affliction. Yes, Christ has given all His children, the Christians, this enormous power over all powers of the enemy – Luke 10:19.
 
If the Christian fails to exercise his authority in Christ over the devil, then the devil would certainly take advantage of him and cause serious damage.
 
This is why, dear friend, a person’s ENTIRE life must be anchored on God’s Word. There is no other way he or she can successfully navigate the vagaries of this life alone. He needs Christ and Christ in His fullness is found in His Word in the Holy Bible.
 
I pray for you today that God opens your eyes of spiritual understanding to the things I have penned down here by God’s Holy Spirit.
 
May the good Lord bless you as you heed His Word today, act on it and share with others in Jesus’ Most Righteous Name, Amen.
