GOD DOES NOT ACCEPT DEFECTIVE GIFTS
Malachi 1:13b (AMPC)
“And you have brought that which was taken by violence, or the lame or the sick; this you bring as an offering! Shall I accept this from your hand? says the Lord. [Lev. 1:3; Deut. 15:21.]”
Dear friends, the Word of God in the Holy Bible is complete. It addresses all issues of life just like today’s lead text reveals.
It refers to the kind of offerings people give to God through the church and it shows clearly that God does not accept all offerings.
in August 2019, I read a report in one of the national dailies of a pastor who was approached by 2 young men to pray for them to be successful in business and they wanted to offer the pastor N2million.
When the pastor asked what kind of business they were doing, they just told him they were doing a business deal and that when it was successful they would give the pastor more money and also buy him a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV).
When the pastor prayed in his spirit, the Spirit of God informed him that these young men were internet fraudsters and when the pastor informed them about this, they admitted that they were indeed internet fraudsters.
The pastor then asked them to leave his office and that he does not accept such funds and so they left and came back later with another cash offer of N4.5 million to the pastor with a promise of an SUV when their fraud is successful, which the pastor again declined and requested that they leave his office.
Dear friends, there are many people today who take God for granted and believe God can accept any gift regardless of the source and how it was acquired.
There are even many pastors today who would have gladly accepted the monetary gift from the young internet fraudsters without asking any question as to the source of the funds.
However, the pastor’s experience shows he is a genuine man of God and to the glory of God, he rejected the sinful gift because if he had accepted without asking, he would have had to pay a tithe on it, which God would definitely reject.
The pastor’s rejection of the fraudulent offer should have been a warning message to the fraudsters that they were toeing the wrong path but they tried to entice the pastor by increasing their fraudulent offer, and the pastor knowing better rejected it a second time.
Let it be made clear today that God does not accept gifts with origin of violence or of an immoral source like prostitution, alcohol, armed robbery, embezzlement, fraud, deceit, etc.
God does not need anything from any human. It is to our own credit and in our own interest that we give gifts to God to acknowledge Him as the Source of all we have and all we are.
However, it should be clear that God is Omniscient or all-knowing so nothing escapes His knowledge or attention to say that He would not know the source of a gift offered to Him.
Those who engage in fraud and other immoral acts that God forbids should learn a great lesson today, repent, stop all their offensive acts, make restitution and return sincerely to God asking for forgiveness and determining to live in righteous obedience to all His commands in the Holy Bible.
Do this before it is too late. Today and now is the day, for tomorrow or later may be too late.
May the good Lord bless you as you heed His Word today, act on it and share with others in Jesus’ Most Righteous Name, Amen.
Gabriel Ama.
