CRISIS, CRISIS, EVERYWHERE – ONLY JESUS CHRIST CAN SAVE YOU

John 16:33 (AMPC) 

“I have told you these things, so that in Me (Jesus Christ) you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.]” 

Dear people of God, I was watching cable television last night and on one news channel I saw a story of protests by people in different countries against their governments.

Since the beginning of the year 2019, It has been crisis, crisis everywhere from Albania to Algeria to Bolivia to Catalan to Chile to Egypt to Gaza to Georgia to Hong Kong to Indonesia to Lebanon to Montenegro to Papua (Indonesia) to Venezuela to Bangladesh to Kenya to Nigeria, etc.

Majority of these protests are directed against the government of the day whose policies and activities have created a lot of discontent while the one in Indonesia was organized by students of over 300 Universities about reducing the powers/authority of the country’s Corruption Eradication Commission, against the bill that penalizes extra-marital sex and insult against the President. 

What I have also observed is that these protests have many young adults or youth as the organizers who are bent on having a change in government.

They are obviously not happy but unfortunately, truth be told that there is no earthly government that can solve the problems of the nation. 

What these youths have also failed to understand is that rebellion against the government of the nation is a sin against God.

Let us see what God’s Word says about rebellion against government in Romans 13:1-2, “LET EVERY person be loyally subject to the governing (civil) authorities. For there is no authority except from God [by His permission, His sanction], and those that exist do so by God's appointment. [Prov. 8:15.]

2 Therefore he who resists and sets himself up against the authorities resists what God has appointed and arranged [in divine order]. And those who resist will bring down judgment upon themselves [receiving the penalty due them]. 

It is clear from today’s lead Holy Bible text that it is only in Jesus Christ that one can have freedom from the troubles of this world. Outside of Jesus Christ, one is bound to experience tribulation of many kinds until he departs this world at death. 

It is for this reason that the Lord Jesus Christ has commanded Christians everywhere to go and tell other non-Christians about the Truth of the Gospel of Repentance and Salvation found only in Him. 

Unfortunately, again, as a result of many Christians not understanding who they are in Christ and their God-given rights in Christ, they experience hardships caused by satan and hold an erroneous belief that God has destined for those in Christ to suffer. 

That is not what God says in the Bible. God does not say Christians would suffer material hardship. What He says is that those who profess Christianity and are determined to live a godly life in Christ would suffer persecution because of their decision – 2 Timothy 3:12. 

As for providing for your material needs, God wants Christians above all else to prosper and be in health EVEN AS THEIR SOUL PROSPERS – 3 John:2. 

Dear friend, can you see the difference here? The three biggest problems people in this world face are poverty, spiritual and health crisis. God says His will is for those in Christ ABOVE ALL ELSE to prosper and be in health as their soul prospers.

This means it is not God Who is responsible for poverty, spiritual affliction and sickness but the devil who comes to kill, steal and destroy – John 10:10.

Now that you have understood this difference, you would see why it is absolutely necessary for everyone to become a Christian because that is the only way they can successfully escape the troubles of this world and still end up with an eternity in Heaven with God. 

The fact that these protests are escalating in numbers is also consistent with what the Word of God says in Matthew 24:7 about nation rising against nation, kingdom against kingdom, famines and earthquakes in place after place.

The Lord Jesus gave this prophesy over 1,985 years ago about the last days in which we are currently living and it is now manifesting today so that should tell any person that Christ is the Way, the Truth and the Life. 

Make up your mind today as you read this, dear friend, to come to Christ Jesus if you are yet to do so before it is too late.

If you are in Christ, make up your mind to live a godly life in Him because satan would always look for the slightest opportunity to wreak havoc on your life when you sin against God. 

I will end by reminding you once again, that no earthly government can save you but only Jesus Christ my Lord and Saviour. 

Jesus Christ is returning very shortly.

May the good Lord bless you as you heed His Word today, act on it and share with others in Jesus’ Most Powerful Name, Amen.
