“One of those days, as He (Jesus) was teaching, there were Pharisees and teachers of the Law sitting by, who had come from every village and town of Galilee and Judea and from Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was [present] with Him to heal them.”
Dear people of God, one of the days we went on Evangelism to share the Gospel with people in our neighbourhood, I was asked a question on how to differentiate genuine miracles from fake ones.
The answer to that question lies in today’s lead Holy Bible text above.
First, Jesus was teaching the Word of God to the people and second, the power of God was present with Him to heal the people.
This is the right step for genuine miracles to take place.
God Almighty and Father of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ wants His Word to first be heard, for people to receive it and believe and then He, God, releases His power to save and heal those who believe.
Let us examine God’s Word in Romans 1:17, “For in the Gospel a righteousness which God ascribes is revealed, both springing from faith and leading to faith [disclosed through the way of faith that arouses to more faith]. As it is written, the man who through faith is just and upright shall live and shall live by faith.”
Here, we see that the Gospel has righteousness from God revealed to the listener, arousing his faith and increasing his faith as he believes. Since no one can please God without faith, then faith is required to receive every miracle from God – Hebrews 11:6.
So faith comes from hearing and hearing the Word of God – Romans 10:17.
Hearing the Word of God would make one examine his conscience and his lifestyle choices because the Word contains power to pierce any spirit and soul of man (Hebrews 4:12) and reveal his urgent need for salvation through Christ, regardless of his background.
Miracles then follow as a reward from God when the individual believes and accepts what he has heard preached to him.
Therefore, if you are in a congregation where the Word of God is not being preached and signs and wonders are taking place, then that is purely magic and not a miracle.
If God were to allow miracles without people FIRST hearing His Word that would save them from sin and the power of the devil, how many people would be interested in hearing the Word of God? Very few, if any at all. And they would end up in eternal damnation in HELL.
So for those who are seekers of miracles, first make yourself acquainted with God’s Holy infallible Word through study, meditation and confession and then miracles are sure to follow.
When you are listening to a preacher, ensure you have your personal copy of the Bible with you to read for yourself what is being said because you may assume what is not written in God’s Word through listening alone without reading for yourself.
That wrong assumption would make you miss miracles because miracles from God are directly related to believing in your heart (spirit) and confessing with your own mouth EXACTLY what God said in the Holy Bible and not what you think He said.
Sometimes, I hear preachers make wrong statements about what is written in God’s Word and I wonder if they created time to study it.
Never ever make assumptions about what you think God said in the Bible. Read it for yourself to see what is there, believe it, obey and do what it says, and get your miracles. God’s Word will always produce miracles when you do this.
It cannot fail to happen.
Dear friend, if you have been following my posts on the Gospel, by now you should have realized that the One thing you cannot afford to toy with in life as a Christian is God’s Word in the Holy Bible.
If you have been following my posts and you are not yet a Christian, I can only tell you that you are cheating yourself out of the best things in life. Not only has God blessed Christians with EVERY spiritual blessing in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 1:3), He has guaranteed them eternal life with Him in heaven provided they are living in righteous obedience to ALL His commands in the Holy Bible.
There is no other religion that can guarantee you eternal life because it has nothing to offer.
Whether you think I am boasting or not is immaterial. The Truth is, I am certain of the Road I follow because I know it leads to eternal life and that Road is Jesus Christ, the Word of God, the Son of God, the Redeemer and Messiah.
Do not reject Christ and die only to discover that you made a wrong choice because it would be too late then.
Come to Him today and now to experience what only those in Christ are assured of. Tomorrow or later may be too late.
