ARE YOU SURE OF YOUR FOUNDATION?

1 Corinthians 2:9-13 (NKJV) 
 “But as it is written:
“Eye has not seen, nor ear heard,
Nor have entered into the heart of man
The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”
 
10 But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. 
 
11 For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. 
 
12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit Who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.
 
13 These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
 
Dear people of God, every human being born into this world is born into a spiritual experience that becomes part of him as he grows in age and understanding.
 
By the time some have reached a certain age, they are sure that the religion they profess and practise is the right one.
 
As a result, they close their minds to any other spiritual idea that is brought to them for consideration.
 
I recall about 6 years ago a man I met who told me he had never read the Bible and that he was okay with his own faith. Try as I did to get him to read the Bible, he told me he would never bother to read the Bible even until his death.
 
He died some 3 years later and it came as a rude shock to me. My biggest pain as far as this matter was concerned was that this man died without opening his mind to the possibility of discovering that he was born into error of his own background faith.
 
I agree that there is a disadvantage of opening one’s mind to listen to the spiritual idea canvassed in another faith into which you were not born. The danger here is that one could be misled into error that would leave the person in a worse spiritual state than where he was previously.
 
On the other hand, there is an advantage in opening one’s mind to consider another spiritual idea other than his. The advantage is to discover that one has been in error with the religion of his birth and quickly accepts and makes a change to the right one.
 
The question now, is, how do you determine the right religion? How do you determine that your own religion of birth is in error?
 
The easiest way is to make an honest comparison of your faith with another one that appeals to you with an open mind and without any emotional attachment.
 
The reason why you must undertake this exercise as a matter of life and death is because it would decide your future in this world and in the afterlife when you pass on at death.
 
Some religions believe in a literal heaven and hell. Some claim to worship the God of heaven Who created the Universe while others worship inanimate objects created with their own human hands.
 
So, who is right and who is wrong?
 
One thing you must understand is that there is a physical realm, the one we see with our human or natural eyes and there is a spiritual realm, the one we cannot see with the human eyes.
 
Everything that happens here on earth in this physical realm has already first taken place in the spiritual realm before it manifests here for our eyes to see. This means there are spirits that control things that happen in the spirit realm so that they can manifest what they desire or aim to achieve in the physical realm.
 
While some of these spirits work for the good of mankind, some work against mankind and this is evident with the level of atrocities we see in this world – adultery, accidents, fornication, murder, wars, violent sports, pornography, thunderstorms, forest fires, earthquakes, etc.
 
Now, while the foul spirits control and dominate adherents of every other religion of this world, thus influencing them to do every kind of evil visible in this world, these foul spirits are UNABLE to control and dominate adherents of just one religion to make them do their evil bidding and that religion is Christianity.
 
If I tell you that Christianity is the only acceptable religion or way of life as far as God is concerned, your reaction should not be to close your mind in disbelief.
 
What I would expect you to do is to take the earlier advice I gave in the course of this message. Ask deep and searching questions to show that you want to be in the right place as that determines your future whether you believe it or not.
 
You must, as the Holy Bible says, test every spirit, whether they are of God because many false prophets have gone out into the world – 1 John 4:1.
 
So, the question you must ponder in your heart to ask is, why Christianity and not your own faith?
 
The easiest way to answer that question is to pray a simple prayer and tell God Who created all things including you to reveal and confirm to you the Truth because you want to know and you want to come out of error you were born into before it is too late.
 
Tell God to show you the Truth about Christianity whether it is right or not. The easiest place to start once you have prayed is to get yourself a copy of the Holy Bible and start reading it with an open mind.
 
Remember that your objective is to discover whether or not Christianity is True with regards to the faith into which you were born. So do not allow any distractions from anyone who would want to convince you otherwise to drop the Bible.
 
Remember, you were born into this world alone. Even if you are a twin or triplet or whatever, you entered this world at birth alone and you are leaving alone at death so it is not about what anyone else thinks but it is about your personal quest to know the Truth.
 
As you study the Bible, go ahead and compare your findings with the people who profess Christianity whether or not there is any correlation with what the Bible says and their personal character.
 
One thing you would discover is that you would see a variety of deviations from the Bible in a number of Christians’ characters but that should not be your focus.
 
Let your focus rather be on those Christians whose daily lifestyles in word and deed conform to what is stated in the Holy Bible. Next, ask yourself whether there are valuable lessons you can learn from the character of such people and if it is a desirable and admirable one.
 
I can give you some specific character traits to watch out for such as integrity, love, forgiving spirit, patience, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.
 
Dear friend, no matter the number of religions practised in this world with promises of a better life here on earth, it is only one that guarantees a perfect afterlife, which is Christianity.
 
Christianity is centered on the life and teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ as found in the New Testament part of the Bible. It reveals Jesus Christ as the Messiah, the Saviour of the world, the Anointed of God and the Son of God Almighty.
 
The Bible gives you the history of the world from God’s perspective, the only correct perspective that shows how the world was created, and how disobedience to God’s commands by Adam and Eve brought in sin and death along with all the unfathomable hardships humans have experienced and continue to experience till date.
 
The Bible shows you why the Christian is the only person in whom through Jesus Christ God has restored what man lost at the beginning of creation through disobedience.
 
It shows you why you cannot afford to remain outside Christianity and what you stand to lose should you exit this world into the afterlife as a non-Christian.
 
I urge you once again, dear friend, to seek earnestly to know the Truth about this life and the afterlife if you are not a Christian. The benefits far outweigh whatever other considerations are at the back of your mind.
 
The choice is yours. I have only told you the Truth in this message.
 
Remember, Jesus Christ loves you always and wants you to come to know Him personally as your Saviour and Lord.
 
Come now, before it is too late.
