“Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.
17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the Name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.”
Dear people of God, I chose to use the NIV bible today to make the message as simple as possible.
The message says we should allow Christ’s message, the Word of God, dwell richly in our hearts as well as sing psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in our hearts.
I ask, is it possible for someone who lives this way to deviate from this pattern?
Let me answer from God’s Word in Romans 6:16 (NIV), “Don’t you know that when you offer yourselves to someone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one you obey—whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness?”
What this Scripture is saying is that you become a slave of whatever you continuously expose yourself to.
When you expose yourself continuously to the wrong things, those wrong things eventually enslave you to shape your thoughts, words and deeds.
These days the devil APPEARS to be gaining ground in private schools run by ‘Christian owners’ and attended by young children of Christian parentage.
If not, how then do you explain the prevalence of worldly music played in such schools and sensual dancing by the kids to which their parents and teachers applaud without a care in this world?
When the Bible says we should sing songs from the Spirit, speak and engage in actions in the Name of the Lord, how do you gauge this admonition against the kind of music and dancing in schools and even in some Churches these days?
Someone may argue that we are living in a time of grace and not the law BUT I have quoted from the New Testament what God expects of us as Christians.
Most schools usually close for the holidays and hold their end of year party in December.
What kind of clothes would do buy for your kids? What kind of music would is played and what kind of dancing happens there? Are they songs from the Spirit of God or from the devil?
Christians parents are strongly advised to stop confusing and destroying the spiritual lives of their kids through exposure to ungodly activities.
Teach your children the Word of God. Teach them to sing songs from the Spirit that glories God. Teach them to speak and act in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ so that all they engage in gives glory to God.
Always remember that we will all give account to God of our lives and the gifts God has given us. Treat everything that concerns you and your family in the seriousness with which God views it.
May the good Lord bless you as you heed His Word today, act on it and share with others in Jesus’ Most Holy Name, Amen.
