“I desire therefore that in every place men should pray, without anger or quarreling or resentment or doubt [in their minds], lifting up holy hands.”
Dear people of God, prayer is a necessity for anyone who would successfully navigate the challenges of this life.
You cannot measure a person’s success in life just by material things because there are very many wealthy people whose lives are in severe crisis, e.g. marital squabbles, health challenges, insomnia, unruly kids, fear of death (Thanatophobia), fear of failure (Atychiphobia), fear of air travel (Aerophobia), etc.
With prayer to God in faith and trust, every human being would surely obtain that peace of mind that surpasses all understanding as God’s Word says in Philippians 4:6-7.
However, today’s main Holy Bible text shows there are hindrances to prayer that everyone should first deal with before going to God in prayer.
These are listed as anger, quarreling, resentment, doubt.
So if you have been praying and not getting results on a particular issue, the right thing to do is to ask God to show you what the challenge is so you can deal with it immediately.
Remember God is not a human being to overlook what His Word says because He wants to please someone. No, that would make Him unjust and unrighteous, which He is not.
God is the Creator and final Authority so He does not rely on humans or any other being to accomplish His purpose. Yes, God is merciful and just and this plays out in His dealings with all humans who come to Him for a Father to child relationship in prayer.
Romans 2:11 (AMPC) says, “For God shows no partiality [undue favor or unfairness; with Him one man is not different from another]. [Deut. 10:17; II Chron. 19:7.]”
If therefore God has said we should deal with these hindrances, then so it is before He gives answer to any prayer.
In fact, you can be sure that satan, the accuser of the brethren (Revelation 12:10) is always on standby to bring charges before God against any Christian carrying these hindrances and because God is just, these hindrances first have to be dealt with before God responds.
One major reason these hindrances have to first be dealt with is because not only would they prevent answers to one’s prayers here on earth, they would prevent entry into heaven when the person dies because the person is defiled and nothing defiled would enter heaven – Revelation 21:27.
