PARENTAL MONITORING AND DISCIPLINE OF CHILDREN (2)

Proverbs 23:24-25
“The father of the [uncompromisingly] righteous (the upright, in right standing with God) shall greatly rejoice, and he who becomes the father of a wise child shall have joy in him.
 
25 Let your father and your mother be glad, and let her who bore you rejoice.”
 
Dear people of God, in the first part of the post on this topic, we saw the dangers kids are exposed to nowadays as a result of peer pressure, wrong choices of people they associate with as friends as well as poor guidance and concentration on only material well-being of kids by their parents.
 
Every parent is extremely happy when their kids turn out well in character. This point is further buttressed by today’s lead Holy Bible text above.
 
However, there is a consequential responsibility on the part of the parents to ensure their kids turn out well.
 
You must show responsibility to your kids by word and deed. Whatever you tell your kids to do, you must display by your own personal example.
 
You cannot tell your kids to hate others and refuse to greet them and expect they won’t do same to you in future. One of your kids would surely tell you to your face someday that you trained them wrongly in asking them to hate others.
 
Rather than get upset at that child, show aggression and shout him or her down, you should be remorseful that your child has identified your weakness as a parent. You should even thank God for this because it is for your own good.
 
Since as a parent you have failed in training the child rightly, you should therefore be thankful to God that your child by God’s mercy has turned out right in character.
 
If however, you choose to fight your child for pointing out your wrong and harmful behaviour as a parent and telling you the truth, you are just moving on a path of destruction for yourself.
 
For the training of a child to be right, it must be consistent with God’s Word in the Holy Bible. The Holy Bible is the ONLY yardstick for measuring righteous living as far as God is concerned.
 
Do not allow yourself to be deceived into thinking otherwise.
 
The Holy Bible is the ONLY authentic and complete resource for knowing what God has said, what He is saying and what He will say as far as this life is concerned.
 
Use it to train, monitor and discipline your kids so they can turn out well in life without becoming a menace to anyone and the society at large.
 
May the good Lord bless you as you heed His Word today, act on it and share with others in Jesus’ Most Righteous Name, Amen.

HOW DO YOU CONTROL VIOLENCE IN PEOPLE?

Hebrews 12:14 (AMPC)  “ Strive to live in peace with everybody and pursue that consecration  and holiness without which no one will [ever] see the Lord.”   Dear people of God, I read sometime in December 2019 ago of a police inspector in Nigeria who shot and killed his colleague, a corporal, and the same shot injured another colleague, a deputy Superintendent of police after which the police inspector took his own life.   What could have led to such violence?   I also read of another unfortunate story of a lady killed December 25, 2019, Christmas Day, by her husband who had beaten her to a coma and then ran away after discovering what he had done. GOD CANNOT VIOLATE HIS WORD

  Psalm 89:34  “My covenant I will not violate, nor will I alter the utterance of My lips.” Dear people of God, today’s lead Bible text in Psalm 89:34 is a profound statement by God Almighty and Father of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. What this statement from God means is that there is nothing He has said in His Word that He will fail to perform.
