“Come to Me, all you who labour and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest. [I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls.]
29 Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle (meek) and humble (lowly) in heart, and you will find rest (relief and ease and refreshment and recreation and blessed quiet) for your souls.”
Dear people of God, a friend of mine told me a true story his brother told him of a lady working in the same multi-national corporation (well known) with him.
This lady was a senior executive and one day she invited my friend’s brother’s boss and other ladies to a meeting. At this meeting, she mentioned to them that she was formally inviting them to join a secret cult whose members control the activities of the corporation and other well-known ones around the world and that they needed to join the cult so that they too could advance in their career.
She said her husband though not working was flying first class to every destination because she could afford it by virtue of her huge salary.
She said when they joined the cult, they would rise very fast in the corporation to reach where they would determine the career of others as against their current status where others determined their career path.
My friend’s brother’s boss declined the offer and said she could not compromise her Christianity for such offer. The occultic lady said that in their cult they recognize Jesus Christ as one of the perfect masters but that it is not all prayers Christians pray that Jesus answers.
She said that for them in the occult, they are able to summon their own master who would appear to them, discuss with them and grant them whatever they requested. She said the lady was currently afraid of losing her job but when she joined their cult, that would change for her.
In spite of the seemingly alluring argument, my friend’s brother’s boss declined the offer and shortly after out of fear resigned her appointment with the corporation but the occultic lady persuaded her not to go just because of the previous discussion she had had with her and others but she insisted and left.
However, another younger single lady who was not part of the meeting got wind of the invitation to join the cult to advance her career and went to the occultic woman to enlist her as their member.
She said she had nothing to lose since she was single and still young.
Shortly after joining the cult, this younger spinster was elevated to a high position and transferred to a lucrative branch of the corporation in a foreign country to earn foreign currency.
I wasn’t told what transpired with the younger spinster.
The reason I gave this true story is because at this time of financial pressures many would face from the coronavirus or covid-19 pandemic from job and business losses, the devil and his agents would go round trying to enlist desperate folks to join them with promises to better their lot.
As a result of pressure to meet up to pay bills, many, including desperate Christians may cave in and join the occult as a way out and damn their souls in the process.
In today’s lead Holy Bible text above, the Lord Jesus Christ has given an invitation to everyone who is in a desperate situation whether financial, marital, emotional, medical, psychological, etc to come to Him so He can give them rest from their problems.
The devil cannot solve any problem for anyone permanently because he has no such powers. Even the power the devil uses to perpetrate his evil was given to him by God Almighty and Father of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ BUT NOT the evil the devil is using it for.
Someone may ask, why does God not just take this power from the devil so the world could have peace?
The simple answer to that question is that God has an appointed time for everything and when that time comes, He would act accordingly.
Even with humans, see what God’s Word says in Romans 11:29 (AMPC), “For God's gifts and His call are irrevocable. [He never withdraws them when once they are given, and He does not change His mind about those to whom He gives His grace or to whom He sends His call.]”
From this Scripture, we can understand why some pastors and preachers of the gospel are able to manifest the power of God even when they are not living right and are deep in sin.
Unfortunately, because many Christians are either not aware of this Scripture or do not understand its import they flock to these deceivers who then take advantage of them in many ways – for the womenfolk, they exploit them sexually whilst they exploit the menfolk financially.
These wolves in sheep’s clothing often started well in the work of the Gospel when God called them but along the line they derailed when they allowed their flesh (for selfish motives) and not God’s Spirit to control them and so even while they still manifest God’s spiritual gifts given at the beginning, they are now living in sin.
This is also why the Lord Jesus Christ says not all who call Him Lord would enter God’s Kingdom but only those who do the will of the Father because many would perform miracles in His Name but would be living in lawlessness – Matthew 7:21-23.
So the lesson here, dear friend, is that Jesus Christ is the One to Whom you should take your problems because He is the only One Who alone can solve all problems for you and give you the much desired peace of mind.
The devil would deceive you, including occultic people and false prophets who are also agents of the devil to equally deceive you into sin and eternal damnation at the end unless you retrace your steps from them to Jesus Christ.
It is easy to identify an occultic person from their conversation and invitation for one to join their occultic group. However, one may then ask, how can someone identify a genuine minister of the Gospel so as not to fall into the error of a false prophet and deceiver?
Jesus Christ Himself answers in Matthew 7:20, “You will fully know them by their fruits.” This is similar to identifying the occultic people.
The false prophet would put miracles FIRST before the Gospel message of repentance and salvation found only in Jesus.
The genuine minister would preach the Word of God FIRST and then Jesus Christ would confirm the Word with signs and wonders because that is what He said in Mark 16:15-18.
Jesus Christ is the Only Solution to every problem in this world, so take your problems to Him and He will give you not just the solution but peace and rest of mind.
