“But from the beginning of creation God made them male and female. [Gen. 1:27; 5:2.]
7 For this reason a man shall leave [behind] his father and his mother and be joined to his wife and cleave closely to her permanently,
8 And the two shall become one flesh, so that they are no longer two, but one flesh. [Gen. 2:24.]”
Dear friend, marriage is an institution you never graduate from because the lessons learnt are usually lifelong.
In my penultimate post, I wrote about godless unions where the man and woman do not know or fear God and as a result, so many things go wrong in their marriage and cause untold hardships and crises for them, children and family members.
The infallible Word of God tells us that in marriage a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife and cleave close to her PERMANENTLY.
And the two shall become ONE FLESH, so that they are no longer two but one flesh.
It is with this background that I write about marriages.
A person who reads and understands God’s Word above concerning marriage would be totally open to his or her spouse regardless of circumstances.
When you take a decision to get married, you are entering into a tripartite contract involving you, spouse and God Almighty before Whom you have vowed to love, cherish and remain faithful to your spouse.
This contract cannot be broken even if humans today are going against God’s commandments on marriage to cleave to your spouse PERMANENTLY.
Why then do spouses mistrust each other and refuse to be open especially about finances?
Will you not die and leave this money no matter the amount involved? Can you bring yourself back to life after death? Certainly not!
When you listen to wrong advice from ungodly people (father, mother, siblings, relatives, friends, etc) never to trust your spouse, you are making a terribly big mistake because you would only end up hurting yourself with wrong decisions.
At this point, I know some are upset and saying this fellow does not know what he is talking about writing all these here because they can never trust their spouse.
Go back again to the beginning of your union with your spouse and ask yourself why you married him or her in the first place.
There was something you saw that attracted you to the person you eventually married. Whatever it is, a decision was made then and you must live with it.
No matter how sore it has become, there is a God and Father of my Saviour and Lord Jesus Christ Who ALONE can change circumstances for best.
God says says EVERY good and perfect gift is from Him, the Father of Lights in Whom there is no variableness neither shadow of turning – James 1:17.
This simply means God remains the same in His Divine Nature of love and mercy and His goodness is forever so every good gift you receive GENUINELY is from God.
Commit your troubled marriage to God and ask Him sincerely to help you and your spouse out of the crises into His peace.
Praying to God for yourself alone with bitterness and resentment in your heart against your spouse, his or her family members, relatives and friends is a waste of your own time because God never responds to prayers from a grudging heart.
You must sincerely forgive your spouse his or her sins if you want God to forgive yours. It is as simple as that.
Only then can God attend to your prayers.
I will leave you with a Scripture in 1 Peter 3:7 (AMPC), “In the same way you married men should live considerately with [your wives], with an intelligent recognition [of the marriage relation], honouring the woman as [physically] the weaker, but [realizing that you] are joint heirs of the grace (God's unmerited favour) of life, in order that your prayers may not be hindered and cut off. [Otherwise you cannot pray effectively.].
You can see from this Scripture how strife between a man and his wife would hinder their prayers.
Please read the additional verses from 1 Peter 3:8-16.
Remember that Jesus Christ is coming NOW to take ONLY those who are qualified according to His righteous standards in the Holy Bible.
