21 For never to have obtained a [full, personal] knowledge of the way of righteousness would have been better for them than, having obtained [such knowledge], to turn back from the holy commandment which was [verbally] delivered to them.
22 There has befallen them the thing spoken of in the true proverb, the dog turns back to his own vomit, and, the sow is washed only to wallow again in the mire.” [Prov. 26:11.]
Dear people of God, the Holy Bible says anyone who is joined to the Lord Jesus Christ has become a new creation, old things have passed away and behold all things have become new – 2 Corinthians 5:17.
In essence, the person is now spiritually born-again and dead to his or her old way of life.
The person surrenders to the leading of God’s Holy Spirit in uncompromising obedience to God’s commands in the Holy Bible evidenced in the person’s lifestyle.
This is the seriousness with which every Christian child of God should operate.
Just as the Bible rightly tells us in 2 Timothy 3:1-5, today’s world is unfortunately filled with very many people who profess Christ and Christianity but are still enmeshed in a double life of sin.
How is that possible for a new creature in Christ?
Something is definitely not right. What has happened is that rather than fight the good fight of faith against the devil’s fiery darts, the backslidden person has succumbed to the devil’s antics and gone right back into his or her old ways.
Of course the Holy Spirit cannot remain as a guide to such a person but no doubt God in His infinite love and mercy continues to warn such person through His Word spoken and taught by genuine children of His.
Dear friend, every sin a Christian commits does enormous damage both to the person and the Body of Christ, some examples of which I would share here:
(1) It automatically disconnects the person spiritually from God and opens the door to the devil to unleash more terror against the person. This is why backsliders usually slide further and further into sin once they have started and continue.
(2) It brings open shame to the Body of Christ. How can the Name of Christ be associated with ungodliness? This is why the late Mahatma Ghandi of India once said he liked Jesus Christ but not Christians.
(3) A Christian who sins openly causes a major hindrance to non-Christians from coming to personally experience Jesus Christ Who alone is Saviour and Lord. Some non-Christian folks, having observed the ungodly attitude of some Christians, have said that they would rather remain the way they are if this is what Christianity is all about.
(4) A person professing Christ crucifies Jesus again and again and holds Jesus to public contempt every time he or she commits sin – Hebrews 6:6.
Are you a Christian? Do you still:
ü Fornicate
ü Commit adultery
ü Tell lies
ü Co-habit with someone with whom you are not formally married according to God’s laws
ü Secretly harbour other women for sexual gratification outside your home apart from your legal wife
ü Cheat others
ü Use your position even as a cleric to oppress others
ü Consult voodoo practitioners, necromancers and the likes
ü Play tricks
ü Drink alcohol
ü Smoke cigarettes
ü Resent others
ü Quarrel
ü Cause division and hatred by ungodly counsel
ü Gossip
ü Steal from Church, office, neighbourhood association, etc
ü Support glaringly ungodly individuals
ü Watch immoral movies
ü Listen to immoral music with ungodly lyrics
ü Read immoral literature
ü Wear sexually provocative clothing that that grip your body tightly and expose your private parts (breast, thighs, upper arms, etc)
ü Crack immoral jokes
ü Bleach your skin and dye your hair
ü Discriminate against others on the basis of ethnic nationality, economic, academic, gender, social, political and religious status?
If you do, know today that you are living a very dangerous life and should immediately repent and return sincerely to Jesus Christ in righteous obedience to all His commandments in the Holy Bible before it is too late.

Remember that Jesus Christ is coming NOW to take ONLY those who are qualified according to His righteous standards in the Holy Bible.
