3 For the time is coming when [people] will not tolerate (endure) sound and wholesome instruction, but, having ears itching [for something pleasing and gratifying], they will gather to themselves one teacher after another to a considerable number, chosen to satisfy their own liking and to foster the errors they hold,
4 And will turn aside from hearing the truth and wander off into myths and man-made fictions.”
Dear people of God, the above lead Scripture is playing out dangerously in the lives of many professed Christians in today’s world and they don’t even realize it.
From my interactions on social media, I have observed that whenever blessings are pronounced in group chats, you will find the highest number of Christians claiming the blessings and rightly so.
On the other hand, whenever sound doctrine and warning is given, very few Christians would respond because that is not what they want to hear as it challenges their current lifestyles that is contrary to God’s Word in the Holy Bible.
In a number of instances, some of them would even attack you, openly calling you names and castigating your exhortation that is based on the INFALLIBLE Word of God in the Holy Bible.
Unfortunately, these attacks cannot change what God has stated in His Word and neither would God reduce His righteous demands of His children because many have hardened their hearts against the Truth of His Word.
From personal experience, I have now realized that the major cause of the problem is because these individuals do NOT study and meditate on God’s Word daily.
As a result, God’s Word cannot become implanted in their hearts and unleash the power to save their souls – James 1:21 (AMPC).
There are however, some Christians who realise their struggle with sin and continue to ask God in prayer to help them.
It is good to pray because a praying Christian is a very powerful Christian.
However, it is excellent to study and meditate on God’s Word because the Word of God is the Sword of the Spirit, an offensive weapon against the devil’s many attacks against God’s children.
I know how God’s Word has helped me to improve spiritually as a Christian in every area of my life and so I cannot joke with it.
If you eat physical food 3 times every day except when fasting, you are building your body and strengthening it for physical work. If you starve your body of food, after a while, you become weak and eventually die.
The same applies to your soul. If you starve your soul (mind, will and emotion) of spiritual food, the Word of God, your soul begins to die spiritually and leaves an open door for the devil to attack you and render you dead.
A spiritually dead person certainly cannot respond to the things of the Spirit of God and is constantly in danger of spiritual assault and so the devil can take him or her out at any time.
Dear friend, let me make it very clear to you that your certificates from formal education do not qualify you to become an authority in God’s Word and so when you are arguing against the Truth of God’s Word spoken by a qualified person, you are only wasting your time and putting yourself in grave danger of an eternal damnation in HELL.
The Pharisees, Sadducees and Religious leaders of Jesus’ time on earth as a human being have since learnt this lesson in a bitter way but it is now too late for them.
Do not make yourself to be one of them.
Anytime you see a message of warning from a preacher of the Gospel, do not make the mistake of openly challenging it because you would not only be misleading and misinforming yourself but others as well and every one of us will surely account to God Almighty and Father of my Saviour and Lord Jesus Christ for whatever we think, speak, do or write on social media.
The right and sensible thing to do is to examine the Holy Bible verses in the message against your current lifestyle and if your lifestyle contradicts the message, repent genuinely and amend your life to suit God’s Word before it is too late, for that may be the final warning you would receive.
I will end with this Scripture in 1 Corinthians 2:14 (AMPC), “But the natural, non-spiritual man does not accept or welcome or admit into his heart the gifts and teachings and revelations of the Spirit of God, for they are folly (meaningless nonsense) to him; and he is incapable of knowing them [of progressively recognizing, understanding, and becoming better acquainted with them] because they are spiritually discerned and estimated and appreciated.”
Jesus Christ is coming shortly to take ONLY those who are qualified according to His righteous standards in the Holy Bible.
Are you living a genuine life as His disciple? Are you ready for Him? Come to Jesus today, for tomorrow may be too late for you.
