The Holy Bible records many signs and wonders that the God and Father of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ performed up till the time the Apostles and Disciples of Jesus went about sharing the gospel in the Acts of the Apostles. In today's world, it does appear that miracles, signs and wonders have reduced or ceased completely. There are many who believe God does not perform miracles anymore. This erroneous idea and thinking about our God has further encouraged many to doubt the existence of God and even encouraged many to go into idolatry and very many others to remain in idolatry. God tells us in Malachi 3:6a, "For I am the Lord, I do not change;" We are further told in Hebrews 13:8, "Jesus Christ (the Messiah) is [always] the same, yesterday, today, [yes] and forever (to the ages)." When I was younger and living in ignorance, I used to check out horoscopes for the period in which I was born to see what it said about me and my future. Even though I wasn't sure I was doing the right thing, every now and then I looked for it to read in newspapers and magazines. When by God's grace I surrendered my life to Jesus Christ as my Lord and Messiah, His Word in the Holy Bible made me understand that there is a best way of accurately predicting one's future without error. Dear friend, notice I said there is a best way and not better way. I say best because it is the only accurate determinant of a person's future. Every human born into this world has two futures - one on earth in this life and one at death in the hereafter. Today I watched half-awake a crime investigation on cable television about a man in England who murdered an elderly couple he was doing business with all because he wanted their money. Police investigations found him trying to cash a cheque for 27,000 British pounds sterling using the late lady's forged signature. I then thought to myself and said aloud, why does one have to steal when the Lord Jesus Christ can do all things for us? I repeated the statement again to my wife and she agreed. The Bible says all things are possible for the individual who has faith or who believes - Mark 9:23. This statement by our Lord Jesus Christ is very profound and every Christian ought to meditate deeply on it. Jesus did not say some things but ALL THINGS are possible for the individual who has faith. The question is, why exactly do you want in life? Dear friends, just like the Word of God tells us about the last days, we are witnessing a flurry of preachers who are telling people about our Jesus Christ. However, the majority of these preachers are focusing on materialism in this world and not spirituality to gain access into heaven.  Our Lord Jesus Christ said clearly that if you seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, all other things would be added unto you - Matthew 6:33. We see the same message in Proverbs 21:21, "He who earnestly seeks after and craves righteousness, mercy, and loving-kindness will find life in addition to righteousness (uprightness and right standing with God) and honor." If righteousness is what a Christian or a child of God should seek first in order to get all other blessings from God, why then are most preachers doing the opposite, preaching prosperity instead of righteousness? 2 PETER 3:1 "For His (God's) divine power has bestowed upon us all things that [are requisite and suited] to life and godliness, through the [full, personal] knowledge of Him Who called us by and to His own glory and excellence (virtue)." Dear people of God, the knowledge, correct application through meditation, belief and confession of God's Word in the Holy Bible is the key to every blessing we desire in life. Today's lead text tells us God has bestowed upon us all that is required for life and godliness. Since God's Word is true, it means every true child of God has this life and godliness bestowed upon him or her.
