CRISIS, CRISIS, EVERYWHERE – ONLY JESUS CHRIST CAN SAVE YOU

John 16:33 (AMPC) “I have told you these things, so that in Me (Jesus Christ) you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.]” Dear people of God, I was watching cable television last night and on one news channel I saw a story of protests by people in different countries against their governments. Since the beginning of this year 2019 alone, It has been crisis, crisis everywhere from Albania to Algeria to Bolivia to Catalan to Chile to Egypt to Gaza to Georgia to Hong Kong to Indonesia to Lebanon to Montenegro to Papua (Indonesia) to Venezuela. Majority of these protests are directed against the government of the day whose policies and activities have created a lot of discontent while the one in Indonesia was organized by s...

CASTING YOUR CARES UPON THE LORD

What does it mean to cast your cares upon the Lord? What does God’s Word say about this? Let us examine 1 Peter 5:7 (AMPC), “ Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him (Jesus Christ), for He cares for you affectionately  and cares about you watchfully. ” This looks so simple, doesn’t it? But I can tell you that it is one of the most difficult tasks for a human being to undertake, which is, living a worry-free life. Even when as a Christian you try to live such a life, the people around you – family, relatives, friends, neighbours, acquaintances would all believe that something is wrong with you because you do not worry over anything in life. I recall many years ago when a friend’s sister saw me walking one day and told me that I carried myself like someone without a care in the world. I was a teenager but I really had no cares back then even though I had not become born again and never h...

HOW TO DEFEAT THE DEVIL EVERY SINGLE TIME!

Let me begin this message by stating a number of facts as far as this world is concerned: (1)         The devil is the cause of all the troubles of this world and not God as many ignorant folks think – John 10:10; Job 1:12-20. (2)         If you are not a Christian, the devil rules over you and has authority over you as the god of this world – 2 Corinthians 4:4. This means the devil will twist and turn the non-Christian’s life in any direction he wants to cause pain and untold affliction as we see in today’s world. (3)         When you become a Christian, the devil has no authority over you but you have authority over the devil given to you as a right in Christ Jesus – Luke 10:19; Colossians 1:13. This authority a Christian has in Christ Jesus over the devil is in all areas including sickness, poverty and spiritual death. (4)       ...

TALK IS EXPENSIVE, NOT CHEAP (2)

Proverbs 18:21 (NKJV) “ Death and life  are  in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” Dear people of God, in the first part of the post on this topic, we saw evidence from the Word of God that every human being born into this world would account for their words before the Judgement Seat of Christ Jesus. We saw that contrary to the popular saying that “talk is cheap”, the words we speak carry more weight than we have ever known or understood. We saw that the words we speak derive from the thoughts in our hearts and these words also shape the direction of our lives because the Lord Jesus Christ has made it clear that we shall have WHATSOEVER we speak - Mark 11:23 (KJV). For instance, the individual who is always complaining about ill health and gives it priority in his or her life would always encounter illness. The person who talks lack and poverty would always struggle to live a decent comfortable life. The person wh...

TALK IS EXPENSIVE, NOT CHEAP

Mark 11:22-23 (KJV) “ 22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. 23 For verily I say unto you, that whosoever shall say unto this mountain, be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.” Dear people of God, there are a number of sayings used in everyday common conversation that when reviewed against the Truth of God’s Word shows clearly that they are wrong. A typical example is when people say “talk is cheap.” Those who say this are actually saying that action should follow talk and not just talk for the sake of talking. In today’s lead Holy Bible text above, the Lord Jesus has told us clearly that whatsoever we declare with our mouths and believe in our hearts shall come to pass. The truth is, a human can only declare with his mouth what is in his or her heart. This is so because the Lord Jesus ...

HOW DO YOU IDENTIFY SOUND GOSPEL TEACHING?

2 Timothy 4:3-4 (AMPC) “ For the time is coming when [people] will not tolerate (endure) sound and wholesome instruction, but, having ears itching [for something pleasing and gratifying], they will gather to themselves one teacher after another to a considerable number, chosen to satisfy their own liking and to foster the errors they hold, 4 And will turn aside from hearing the truth and wander off into myths  and man-made fictions.” Dear people of God, we are currently living in the era the Word of God in today’s lead text above refers. There are many ministers of the Gospel today who have not been called by God but are trying to help God and they then get themselves entangled with the devil. As a result, not only do they preach the wrong doctrine but they also practice wrongdoing as a result of not being grounded in God’s Word. I have an elderly friend with whom I share the Gospel on a regular basis and whenever he hears me preach about rig...
