DENYING THE LORD JESUS CHRIST

Matthew 10:32-33 (AMPC) “ Therefore, everyone who acknowledges Me (Jesus Christ) before men  and confesses Me [out of a state of oneness with Me], I will also acknowledge him before My Father Who is in heaven  and confess [that I am abiding in] him.   33 But whoever denies  and disowns Me before men, I also will deny  and disown him before My Father Who is in heaven.”   Dear people of God, a few days ago I watched a video where a young Christian man of North Eastern Nigeria origin testified how his father, a Christian also, was brutally murdered by the evil Boko Haram Islamist terrorists in September 2014.   He said his father was captured by the Boko Haram terrorists and asked to deny Jesus Christ, which he bluntly refused.   The terrorists then cut off his hand up to the wrist and asked him to deny Jesus, which he still refused. They then cut up to his elbow but the man refused to deny Jesus.   They then went ahead to shoot him twice i...

WHY A RICH PERSON CAN HARDLY ENTER HEAVEN

Dear friend, before you become startled and wonder about today’s topic, let us look at the Words of the Lord Jesus Christ in Matthew 19:23-24 (AMPC), “And Jesus said to His disciples, Truly I say to you, it will be difficult for a rich man to get into the kingdom of heaven. 24 Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to go into the kingdom of heaven.” Jesus made this statement because He knows that majority of rich people put their entire attention and trust on their resources to solve all their challenges in life. The rich person believes he can use his money to have his way all the time and because our world is wired around money, many people unfortunately have the same wrong thinking. In fact, to buttress this point some even quote the Holy Bible text in Ecclesiastes 10:19b (AMPC), “But Money answers all things.” Now, why is it difficult for the rich to enter heaven? It is because they feel they have no need for t...

THE WORD OF GOD LIVES FOREVER

Dear friend, are you aware that Jesus Christ is the Word of God? If not, please take your Bible and study the following Scriptures:   (1)         John 1:1,14 (2)         1 John 5:7 (3)         Revelation 19:13 Now, having established that Jesus Christ is the Word of God, it is also a known fact that the Lord Jesus Christ resurrected on the third day after His crucifixion and death on the Cross of Calvary for the sins of mankind as He had said He would and this is the foundation for Christianity because Jesus said it and He did it. Since Jesus Christ lives forever (Hebrews 7:24-25), then His Word also lives forever because He is the Word of God. This means every time you speak out the Word of God over your life’s situation just as it is stated in the Holy Bible, you are activating the power therein and since Jesus Christ is the Word of God, you are also calling on H...

LIVING IN DENIAL

In my lifetime, I have had cause to discuss issues with people using God’s Word in the Holy Bible as reference and even when it was glaring they were in error on their submissions, they denied it. One typical example of such behaviour is when I tell people to depend completely on God for everything concerning their welfare. I have noticed that people are ready to complain to you about how others have refused to help them and when you tell them NOT to focus on humans but on God for their help, they are quick to tell you that they depend solely on God. If you depend solely on God, why then are you complaining about a human NOT helping you financially or in any other area of your welfare? It is this act of living in denial that makes such people miss the Truth of God’s Word that would save them from the hardships of life. You cannot be speaking from both sides of your mouth and believe that God would respond to your needs. Let us see God’s Word in James 1:5-8 (AMPC), “If any o...

DEALING WITH GUILT OF SIN (2)

Numbers 5:6-8 (AMPC) “ Say to the Israelites, when a man or woman commits any sin that men commit by breaking faith with the Lord, and that person is guilty, 7  Then he shall confess the sin which he has committed, and he shall make restitution for his wrong in full, and add a fifth to it, and give it to him whom he has wronged. 8  But if the man [wronged] has no kinsman to whom the restitution may be made, let it be given to the Lord for the priest, besides the ram of atonement with which atonement shall be made for the offender.” Dear people of God, in the first part of the post on this topic, we examined how to deal with guilt of sin committed against God. What we saw was that as a person is genuinely sorry and confesses the sin no matter how grievous, God would certainly forgive. We saw that it is the devil that keeps reminding one of his or her past sins with a view to deceiving the person into believing that God would never forgive that sin and then to ul...

DEALING WITH GUILT OF SIN

1 John 1:7-9 “ But if we [really] are living  and walking in the Light, as He [God Himself] is in the Light, we have [true, unbroken] fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus  Christ His Son cleanses (removes) us from all sin  and guilt [keeps us cleansed from sin in all its forms and manifestations].   8 If we say we have no sin [refusing to admit that we are sinners], we delude  and lead ourselves astray, and the Truth [which the Gospel presents] is not in us [does not dwell in our hearts].   9 If we [freely] admit that we have sinned  and confess our sins, He is faithful and just (true to His own nature and promises) and will forgive our sins [dismiss our lawlessness] and [continuously] cleanse us from all unrighteousness [everything not in conformity to His will in purpose, thought, and action].”   Dear people of God, the above Scripture was addressed by John the Evangelist to Christian believers.   There are s...
