If I were to ask most people who believe in God if they loved God more or money, the answer they would is give is "I love God more." However, if I probe with further questions, the answers would reveal more of what is in the person's heart about God and money. The Lord Jesus Christ says "For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of (Luke 6:45)." The Word of God says in Ecclesiastes 10:19, "Feasting makes you happy and wine cheers you up, but you can't have either without money." Indeed, money can solve so many problems of human beings, as we see today so many people are suffering untold hardships all over the world. In the Bible book of Jeremiah 29:11-13, God says, "I alone know the plans I have for you, plans to bring you prosperity and not disaster, plans to bring about the future you hope for. Then you will call to me. You will come and pray to me, and I will answer you. You will seek me, and you will find me because you will seek me with all your heart." A simple definition of prayer is communication with God our Father Almighty. There are several reasons why Christians engage in prayer. One major and most important reason is giving due recognition to God as the Ultimate Authority in every situation. Because God is the Creator and Owner of everything, we must accord Him reverence and worship. Prayer is one way we do this. We confirm to Him that we depend totally on Him for our sustenance and rightly so. Our Lord Jesus Christ tells us the value of continuous prayer to God without getting discouraged in His parable of the widow and the unjust judge (Luke 18:1-8) stating clearly that God our Righteous Judge will act in our favour and quickly too. It is a great thing to praise and honour the Lord. Whoever learns to do this is a wise individual indeed. Do you know why you must praise God and honour Him always? According to His Word in the Holy Bible in Deuteronomy 11:14, To the Lord belong even the highest heavens; the earth is His also, and everything in it. It is also written in Deuteronomy 11:17, "The Lord your God is supreme over all gods and over all powers. He is great and mighty, and He is to be feared. He does not show partiality, and He does not accept bribes." The Lord God Almighty spoke the Universe into existence (Hebrew 11:3). He alone is God and He has alone has Ultimate Power (Psalm 86:10; Isaiah 42:8; 43:11). Do you believe in miracles? I do. Miracles are SUPERNATURAL events that God uses to affirm His supreme Sovereignty and Majesty. Science cannot explain miracles because man is limited in his knowledge. Miracles are indeed proof that God the Almighty Father exists and is real.
